I must say that I'm a little disappointed with Micheal. Sure he's hi-res and all, has a few more morphs than the standard dude. But the morphs he does have dont seem to do all that much. His nose morphs are laughable. The only ones I think pass are the ones to change the shape of the face and the lips. And his eyebrows drive me nuts! Doesnt someone out there with more morphing skill than I have facial morphs for the poor guy? Dave

What is wrong with the eyebrows? And I have a number of morps that I am aboutt o upload soon. Kinda figured out the stripping thing. I think that people use the preset characters like Ran Ran and Nene and stuff and then say the Poser figure is so flexible. Use the dials. They can accomplish wonderful things if you use them with each other.

I love Michael just the way he is. I've had no problems with him at all and created some very unique characters with him. Poppi, your guy looks gorgeous, but I wish he wasn't hidden behind Ranran so we could see his face better. Melanie

I've spun the dials. Believe me I've done it several times and I'm not that satisified with the results. I guess I'm just used to the "extra" morphs that are available for the P4 dude over at Morph World. Noses vary as much as people do. Size of the eyes do too. I can't seem to do much of that with Michael. And his eyebrows bug me cause I can never really see what effect their going to have until after I render. Then it's back to spinning the dials again. Michael is a big improvement over P4 Dork, but you're right about the morphs (especially the nose). One thing you can try is using very low settings on one or more of the full-face ethnic dials, then combining with more or less of the feature dials. Sometimes negative settings give useful results. And, of course, texture maps can make a big difference. Still, it's hard not to have all your Michael characters look clone-like. I've asked DAZ if they have any plans for reasonably priced feature-by-feature (not just full-face character) sets of high-quality morphs for Michael, but didn't get a response.

Figures. I think they're more obsessed with Vicki as does seem quite a few people here. Doesnt Vicki need a male companion that doesnt look like such a dork or a clone? Dave

Will post some of my non-clones but here is one that I think looks different. I agree aboout the nose a little. It is missing a nose wider morph (it has one but I mean for the bridge only) but you can combine the nose wider with the nose pinch to create something of one. And they blatantly said they are doing more Vicki stuff since everyone buys her and does stuff with her. I don't think Michael is a dork but he is a character that can look very standard if you don't mess with him. As for the eyebrows. I have sort of gotten past looking at the dots but I normally do a couple of quick renders which Ineed to do anyway.BillBay posted Tue, 20 March 2001 at 9:51 AM
He shows a lot of character... well done. You have indeed succeeded. Bill BBay.com

I'm almost to the point of just putting Dork's head on Michael's body. Shame that I would have to do such a thing. Maybe more people would buy Michael if he had more options. Nice work, Ghost.

Thanks Dave. There is only one morph in that that didn't come from Zygote. Kind of a wider, busted nose. The busted was the biggest thing I couldn't do with what came from Zygote. I have about five characters though that I am going to put on my site when I get a chance. They are all done with the Daz/Zygote morphs though. The biggest thing I have found is trying to look at someone. Don't try to get them exact but try to draw things from them like the curve of the nose etc. Good luck and I should post those charactes by the end of the week I think.

There are morph creators out there besides Traveler (who has long been our 'Morph God') and I too wonder why they aren't creating morphs for Michael. However, I have seen some wonderful characters created with Michael. I don't think one should necessarily look to Daz to create the morphs--they didn't do that for P4dork either, remember. I suspect that if someone did a terrific morph package for Michael, it would sell well. I'm enjoying using him and I do see him around quite a bit. I think it could be moderately profitable for someone to try this--hope there are some takers. Diane

Me and you both. I did a few for the Dork. I took a look at doing one for Mike and got intimidated by the number of vertices. Dork was bad enough to deal with even with hiding some of the vertices. Mike looks like he would be a pain to make morphs, unless you're an experienced pro at it. Dave

Care to share those morphs with the masses? I'm bout to the point of breaking down and putting the p4 dork's head on Michael's body. In fact I've got the OBJ already set-up I just dont have the CR2 worked out yet. Dave

I'm with Dave, Mike is a real pain and the nose is awful to work with. Also awful is the chin and jawline. The whole thing is really just sad. Some of you have done some great work but I'm guessing it was nowhere near as easy as it is to morph Vicky. -Darth

He has always seemed easy to morph to me ...
Dave posted Tue, 20 March 2001 at 3:06 PM
It's not that he's not easy to morph, it's just that the morphs that are available dont do a whole awful lot. Dave

i've posted a small set of morph targets for Michael's chin in free stuff--just a start. More later.Ghostofmacbeth posted Wed, 21 March 2001 at 10:44 AM
Thanks nfredman S .. Oh .. I am posting a sample of some of my morphs that I will give out in a couple of minutes. The picture that is. The morphs have to wait until I can strip the things. The program is on my other puter.

Here's one of my Mikes. In this case he looks a little different than the norm because I put the Vicky gel cut on him. I like the nose morphs so far and being able to adjust the placement of the mouth on the head (higher or lower) makes making Michael look different pretty easy. Also eyes closer or apart makes a difference. Yet Another Dave : )

Dave, how delightful this picture is! You are quite right--as i said on another thread, one can actually do quite a lot with the given morph dials.
