What was going to be an incremental patch ended up having so many new features that it's become ShaderSpider 1.5! You must have ShaderSpider or ShaderSpider Mac installed before updating; the new ShaderSpider LE 1.5 will be posted soon.
PARTIAL SHADERS / WEDGE SHADERS
- New FX-MAT Builder allows you to create MC6 files that apply partial shaders/wedge shaders. FX-MATs are the partial shader/wedge shader equivalent of MAT poses.
- The value of inputs affected by wedge shaders is now "popped" and connected along with the in-node. For instance, if you have a texture map hooked into a red diffuse color, the red diffuse color will be turned into a Simple Color node and the texture map will be attached to it, then the wedge shader will go between the diffuse color input and the newly popped node.
MAT POSES
- You can now save DAZ|Studio material presets (DS files) from the Save MAT Pose wacro. The shader tree is translated to use the DAZ|Studio Default shader: Displacements, refraction, lighting model and DAZ's mappable properties are all supported. (If have a map applied to your specular color in Poser, the map will be used for the specular color in DS as well.)
This feature does NOT create a DAZ|Studio compatible shader from your Poser shader tree. If you have an Edge_Blend node attached to your Diffuse_Color and your texture map hooked into the Edge_Blend, only the texture map and the Diffuse_Color value will translate to DS; the Edge_Blend will be ignored.
Use of some nodes will trigger a different DS lighting model to be used. If a Skin node is present in the shader, the lighting model will be "Skin"; Glossy -> "Glossy (Plastic)", Phong or Blinn -> "Metallic". Otherwise, "Plastic" is used. If more than one of these types of node is present, then Skin nodes are given precidence, then Glossy, then Phong and finally Blinn.
Remember that you may want to tweak your settings in Studio, and that DS files are not visible to Studio when they are in Poser content directories (and vice versa).
- You can now toggle file path cleaning on or off when saving a MAT pose.
- Added "pSave MAT Pose" wacro to ShaderSpider for Props.
- Fixed a bug that caused some setups to save improperly cleaned file paths.
COPYING
- A dialog is now used to show which materials your settings have been pasted onto. You can hit Escape or Enter/Return to close the dialog.
- A work-around has been developed for the "shutil" problem that affects some P6 installations.
SHADERSPIDER LE
- ShaderSpider LE is now included standard with all ShaderSpider installations.
- Updated to support input popping (see top of readme).
- All FX-MAT loading is handled through ShaderSpider LE.
ShaderSpider is currently available from DAZ in Mac and PC flavors.
