Anyone else had a problem with P6 getting to the opening page and then stopping? No error message or anything, just closes the window and goes back to the desktop. Worked fine day before yesterday and only thing I've added is shaders from Posework and RDNA, plenty of HD space, 1gig memory. No settings added or changed. Second time in a month it's done it and the only fix last time was to flush everything and reinstall.

well I flushed it all, reinstalled, wrote e-frontier, but of course they're not open again until Monday. Loaded everything onto my son's laptop and it worked fine, then after I unloaded it from his put P5 on the desktop and of course it worked. The only thing I can think of is a problem with drivespace and/or memory. Redid the anti-virus and had to go to OfficeMax to buy a new CD-ROM burner. I can't see how it can be the computer..it's a 700+MHz, 1gig RAM with 50 odd Gig free on the Hard Drive. I even tried patching it back to sr2 and poof no go. Yes I could use my son's laptop but why? It's worked before plus I'd have to migrate over everything, not to mention the fact he only has a 60gigHD total + 512Meg memory in it. Might get a bit ticked I'm using up the majority of his space.

For some reason it came back up today and started working. Was able to bring it back up sr2 and everything, toss in the old runtime. I'd like to thank everyone for their help and responses. OH yeah. There were none.

I just installed SR2 and had the same problem. It would get through to the credits then just shut down before the character space came up. I reinstalled from the CD once and it didn't help. I finally went to Nvidia and got the latest super duper mega driver installer and updated my video drivers. That fixed it. Better late than never:)

2 things, one is, 700 Mhz is not very fast and that looks like you don't have OpenGL support. Here are the system requirements for Poser 6: * Windows 2000 or XP * 500 MHz Pentium class or compatible (700 MHz or faster recommended) * 256 MB system RAM (512 MB or more recommended) * 500 MB free hard disk space (2 GB recommended) * 24-bit color display, 1024 x 768 resolution * OpenGL enabled graphics card or chipset recommended (recent NVIDIA GeForce or ATI Radeon preferred) * Internet connection required for Content Paradise * CD-ROM drive (copied from e-frontier) When you re-install, don't flush everything, just make a new minimum installation and if it works, direct Poser to your old runtimes.

I am not familiar with the shaders product but pixel shading requires activeX 8 or better and OpenGL. Maybe you installed Poser 6 with SreeD and when you installed shaders it flipped the switch to OpenGL. Right Click on any part of your desktop that does not have an Icon. A window will pop up. pull down to the bottom where it says properties and left click. Your display properties window will pop up. The last tab on the right is the settings tab. Click on that and you will see a monitor image and a slider for screen resolution. between the two should be the word display and your monitor and video card type. Find out if you have an Nvidia or ATI graphics card then get the latest driver from their website. Don't try to update with windows I tried to update my video driver in the hardware manager and it told me I had the latest driver as of 2003 but Nvidia had a newer one on their website.
