Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 4:12 am)
"M3 Space Suit (sun visor is white, and cannot be changed...)"
Can't be changed in Poser before import? Or can't be changed in Vue after import?
Guess you've seen the many posts about Poser highlights being black, etc. and needing edits in Poser before import?
Sorry, i don't have more ideas...

After import... it renders white, no matter what I do... as for the listurne hair.. I put it in it's own PZZ and after loading there is no object... no errors... :) Yes.. I mess with the highlight color/strength a lot to get the look I want and the bumps don't come over cleanly, and some items that use ERCs or switching geometry don't load properly... but these are weirder than the weird.. THanks... mes
Great info Dale B. Bit over my head as a Poser newbie. Would be winderful if you could do a tutorial on these Poser importing tips/techniques!
Or maybe you know of one?

All of my Poser imports into Vue5 d'E have material issues, Vue replaces all maps with a default and refuses to change them. The mat editor shows that the right maps are loaded but replaces them in the scene with a default mat(Mirror in most cases), if I look in the Mat Summary all materials look the same, when I click "edit" I can see that the correct mat is loaded.
My only workaround at the moment is to import the Poser into Vue4, save and then import the file into Vue5, this however requires me to have 2 PC's running, one with the whole Poser set-up and Vue4 and one with the same Poser setup and Vue5. Would be nice if Vue 4 and Vue 5 would run on the same PC.
I don't have a problem importing most stuff into vue... however if it has PP mat files I always choose those over a p5/p6 mat file to ensure no issues... but it's just weird... BTW Dale_B I tried your suggestion, and I still couldn't change the color... It's white... hit F6 and go into the material editor... changed it to one of the gold presets... still white... oh well... mes

We should start a list of Poser products that do not function properly in Vue... I have run into a few products lately that either don't display properly when imported or just don't load at all... Recent examples: Listurne Hair (Doesn't load at all) M3 Space Suit (sun visor is white, and cannot be changed...) Any ideas or workarounds would be greatly appreciated... Poser6.0.2, Vue Infinite Build 279784 Cheers/Thanks.
