Hi all Well I finally started it, I have just started posting to The Runtime. Aimed at all us poserholics The Runtime is going to provide round-ups of the goings on in the Poser universe, articles, reviews of products and interviews. I've started posting news and I've also uploaded the first article From A-List To P-List. More coming, news/community round-ups will be everyday with reviews and articles hopefully just as often. It's new so expect it to keep getting better and updating. For now, take a look drop your comments to me and above all enjoy. Best wishes Jodyinfinity10 posted Tue, 24 January 2006 at 6:10 PM

In your headline about the Renderosity Store update, the word "controversy" is misspelled. You left out the "n". Other than that, this looks like a great idea. I wish you much success. -jjsemp

"One of the more interesting products to be released lately is RDNAs Art Materials Vol 1. A massive collection of toon related shaders. At $30 its quite expensive, but there is clearly a lot of bang for your buck. Certainly looks a must if youre into cartoon or comic renderings." The $30 price is the sale price, the list price of the product is $45 (sale ends 1/25/06). The pack has 1418 materials and a 22 page detailed manual developed by Olivier over 6 months listening to users feeedback and responses. The people that are interesting in toon rendering with Poser 6 and have bought the product novice to advanced users have all raved about the product. If your going to post about products on your Runtime site people may not buy a product based on what you write about it. I hope in the future that you will review items with more informative information other than "At $30 its quite expensive..." It really is a diservice to the creator of this well developed product.

Hi MachineClaw No offense is intended, it's a news item, a brief snippet and a brief observation about the launch of the product. While looking for items to post I remembered the launch of the Materials Vol 1 and thought it looked very good and different from the normal posr product. $30 is above the normal bar for a poser product so I am merely commenting on that fact. I also commented that it seems to include a lot of features for that money. Part of the joy about writing this site is the fact that I am going to speak my mind about things, there is no point in posting wave after wave of reviews/comments if they are all positive. Some people will agree with my comments, others will not. Best wishes Jody

"$30 is above the normal bar for a poser product so I am merely commenting on that fact." I don't think that you have looked around at pricing. normal bar for what? A comparison of similar products? Or are you saying $30 is to expensive becuase normal bar is a slutty dress is $5 here? That is my point. A price may seem expensive to you but to someone in need of the product the price is right. there is a large movement in Poserdom to drive prices down and it is hurting merchants, some giving up and leaving. whatever.

Hi Machienclaw I don't want to beat around the bush, but bear in mind I stated that it is a news snippet with a comment by me. It's an opinion made by me while posting a news item. My personal feeling is $30 is a bit expensive for a poser product. It doesn't mean I won't pay it, it doesn't mean I haven't paid more (I paid $70 for Santum Arts new sci-fi armour), it just means I though it was a bit expensive. The product in question is on my list of items to get at some point, as I want to do cartoon/comic renders at some point, when I do get around to buying it I'll no doubt comment/review properly on the site as I am intending to do with many other products. Anyway, let's finish this now, agree to disagree. Best wishes Jody

Some think review sites should advertise not criticize products. As someone who has been a critic for some 30 years in print, on TV and the internet - no one, except the seller, wants to read puff pieces. And no one will respect your opinion if you do. Speak your mind and let your readers decide what to spend their hard earned money on. Yeah, I want low prices on everything I buy. If merchants don't think what they are doing is profitable enough, indeed maybe they should find a more lucrative field. There's a lot of good hearts in this community and very generous people, but it seems to me that thinking of merchants solely as our starving artist brothers-in-arms is naive. Good luck with your site, it looks promising.
