It looks good but I would add some noise to the ground and the runway to make it look less clean.

Well yeah. I like to get the Airbase done first. Then textures can come into play after. Enjoy what you see for now.. :-)

Showing my ignorance here I know. What are the advantages of creating huge sets for full scale characters as opposed to "normal" sets and reduced characters?

Reduced characters? Their is no advantages of creating huge sets opposed to normal sets (what is normal sets or do you mean small sets?). Great to have huge sets for large scenes (Flyovers, driving, going places, scenery..etc..etc), and great to have small scenes for little areas (Conversations, meetings).

Just for myself, lmckenzie, I find it easier to just laod in a set/prop, character, whatever, and know they're all designed around the same scale(ish: given there's no real definition of scale in Poser!), than to bring something in that's "normal" scale, and have to reduce the size of all my other models to compensate. jonthecelt

True. Depending on how many other figures you have it could be a real hassle reducing the scale of everything else. I've read of parenting everything to a master figure and reducing that but I'm sure that has deficiencies and drawbacks as well. I was mainly curious because I think I recall that Robo2010 was having problems before getting really large sets to render properly. I'd think that past a certain expanse, Mojoworld or something like that would be the way to go. I believe the latter can now import Poser figures so I bet you can import your props as well.

Problem with Mojoworld would be trying to find a good space to place your props and scene: because it's a fractal world generator, it van be difficult to get a more urban/manufactured look on it. Trying to find that ideal site for a city or airfield might prove tricky. I got a copy of worldBuilder on my latest issue of 3D World a few weeks back... not had a chance to play with it properly yet, but it might be the way to go... no creation of complete planets, but a good way to get a larger-scale vista with more control over height variation, perhaps... jonthecelt

Yeah that had occurred to me. They would have to provide a way to manipulate local areas of the geometry...bring in the earth-movers so to speak and level a site. Which sounds like this (just checked their site): "MorphGrid: A new primitive type that lays a network of handles over an area of a planet surface. These handles can be pushed and pulled to non-destructively shape the terrain underneath it, giving unprecedented control over a terrain without having to import bitmap terrains." Not sure how much control it gives you but Mojo seems to be moving in interesting directions with many new features since I last looked at it. They even support P6 strand hair now.
