Bullion operations on Metaballs ... Negative-Positive - Group etc... DOES IT WORK ? and How.

Holding Shift while clicking the metaball icon creates a negative metaball. It reacts to a "normal" metaball without having to group them.

You can group metaballs, which means that they only interact with other metaballs in that group.

And you cannot boolean metaballs. But you can creat negative ones. Like Frogdot said.
