recent project called for a mountain in the background, thought I'd spend some time in Bryce with it. Im not very good with snow but tell me what you think?

please dont mind the gray in the front, mostly I just wanted a mountin and some skies to use for a different scene...

Since you helped me, mountain is cool but snow will not accumulate on steeps. you may want to adjust or add a slope factor in materials DTE

There are places so cold, that the entire mountain can be white like this, aren't there?

I think paces like the Eiger or Everest are covered just like this all year round.......but you could maybe darken a face or two in post....

hmm, I agree from a technical standpoint, especially given the spring atmosphere I'm going for

but then again, I live right next to mt. Rainier, and it's completely white until the dead of summer. I guess I'm asking if it's detailed enough?

I like the mountains...maybe darkening them would push them into the background more. Right now my eye keeps getting drawn to the top right. :) Interesting style to it. Nevanna

thank you Nevanna, you make a good point... perhaps some more spray in the stream, or birghtening of the rest of the scene would help as well. I dont want them to be a focal point, really.

Ahhh, I see it in a different light now.The scene looks really good Darkening may help some but consider angle of stream moves your eye to the mountain. Is it possible to add another element to the pic with its flow of lines to point to fairy (assuming this is your intended focal point) If you could, maybe hazing out the stream into back ground would break up the draw to the mountain. Did I say what a great scene this is?? My 1/2 cent worth.

Use Terragen for the mountains, Vue for the skies, and Bryce for everything else........great concept

(laughs!) No, this is Maya, Marko. I don't need Terragen, Vue or anything (including Bryce) anymore, but I like to use Bryce because it's a quick setup for mountains. I could have exported the mountains straight to Maya, but Bryce has easier rendering options, even though it takes ten times longer to render anything...
