Hi I am fairly new to poser, and I want to get it cleaned out, cleaned up, and organized! I know I can set up a seperate area in my puter for downloaded Runtimes>the question is how do I set it up to recognize that? Ideally I want seperate folders for Plants, Charactors, Buildings, Jewelry>etc., and like that. So that as I build and render there is a better more concise way of finding everything. Am I asking for the Moon??? LOL! I really also want to move a lot of the system charactors out of 6 and just have them sit in a folder somewhere far, far away! LOL! There are many things that are not being used by me and I have no expectation to use them in the future! I would very greatly appreciate your advice and input. I need some fairly braindead instructions as terminology is not my strong point yet! I could use advice in simple terms and easy for the beginner to comprehand! I am actually quite good so far, and I just need to know a cleaner system of organization. I have to hunt back and forth and all over to find stuff! A lot of the things in there are unmatched and many Morphs and Mats lack the Figure to be allowed to work! So that is what I mean by cleaning out the program. ThanX and I look forward to hearing a reply! CrimsonMoon>

I'd like to know how to clean out the runtime folder too crimson moon. Especially if theres some way to stop the newer poses in the pose library, from taking over the older one's.

If you haven't put anything in the Download folder in P6, creating another runtime structure is very fast. Create the master folder, whatever it's to be called, then copy the runtime folder from the download folder to it. From that point on just cut and paste the content out of the main P6 runtime that you want.
I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

I think you almost have the idea. If I was to do what you want, I'd create my runtime, call it plants fo example. Then I'd install/unzip the plants package to a dummy folder, Open in your case. Then copy that runtime and paste it on top of the Open folder. Should get a message that the runtime already exists and will be overwriten. Go ahead. Now all of the files should be in the proper loacation. When you want to use them, click on the figures folder in P6 and add the new runtime.

Reply to NickedShield>the only 2 items are V3 and Aiko, that is all I have put in from my download folder which I keep on my F Drive. I was told by a friend to never install directly into the P6 in my C drive. So I download and open in my secoundary drive and copy it over to a folder called open>from there I install into the P6program when it is open. Trouble is all sorts of stuff tagged along! and now there is extra things that made no sense. So to be clear>I can download all my Plants Runtimes into a Plant Folder, and install it as that in the props section of the libraries???? Would the textures and Mats (*if supplied) go there too? ThanX for all the responses!!! BDC, I hope this helped you too!!! ThanX to you BuckZero for the link! I will read it with interest! I am attaching a render I did for your enjoyment, I hope I do it right! I have been owning Poser6 for about a month and am still definetly learning. I do post production in PSP7 (*cause I like it, I have 8,9 & X)The name of the work is 'Solitude II'

I set up everything outside of poser. I set up a poser file with subfiles for Daz, Rendo, PoserPros, RDNA, etc.
All you do is create the files and when you unzip, the runtime folders are created for you. Then just "add new runtime" in Poser.
