I don't think it's a good idea for me to frequent the forums anymore. I've noticed a trend lately for people to attack the vendors on their commercial posts. I have often posted here both to advertise and answer question, but I think that is obviously a conflict. Many of my posts lately have been 'thread bashed', or "bbay bashed" or "price bashed". I'm working on a book and spend to much time on the computer anyway. Announcements on products. will be at respective stores. I'll check back next year. Regards, Anton AntonKisiel designs BBay Daz Ps: If anyone is interested in starting a neutral PoserVendor's Forum email me.

Jeez, another great member fades into the shadows. :P I can understand why you feel the way you do though, and I hope you can return soon. I'll be the first one to admit that I don't particularly like the store and the wave of commercialism it's brought to the forums, but I would never personally attack an artist for trying to sell their work. Sorry to hear that some people have been so hard on vendors like you. Take care and keep up the good work. SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words.

Don't go!!!!!!!! Please!!!!! Ignore the dipsh!ts that complain. There are so many of us that need and want your help, and I, for one, like to see your announcements for new products. You are quite an inovator in the Poser community. We need you as more than a vendor.
RadArt posted Thu, 22 March 2001 at 9:50 PM
For every one person that whines and complains at you Anton, remember that there are ten that adore you! No one can stop you from leaving, but we can certainly tell you how much you will be missed and you will be missed a LOT!! You great people are like prime pieces of one big giant puzzle and every time one of you leaves that puzzle gets smaller and smaller, soon we will have only bits and pieces and what good is that? You are one very important piece of ALL this 3D world we are in, this is a sad day, but I do wish you well and bless you for all you have done and will continue to do in whatever way you choose to do it. You are a rarity that has just become even rarer. Take care ;-)

Very sorry to hear this but I completely and totally understand why you are doing it. There are many people who think that your stuff is terrific and probably way too few that say so and I still plan to get this new set I thought the price was reasonable especially considering Daz has 35 to 40% coupons so often.

I'm not angry just tired. I will be starting up some new Poser related sites over the next few months. And I will frequent the galleries. I just won't be posting anymore. After three weeks of working on a project you can only read these so many times before posting threads are no longer fun. "Nice, but way to expensive...." "Look great but as long as you sell it there I won't be buying it" "That looks great, but I just hope you aren't going to sell it..." "I would never pay that much." Or having people talk about you in the third person for several threads in your own post knowing you are going to read what they said and hopefully learn some type of lesson. When I started in the forums, there were no transpammed anything, no photorealistic textures anywhere, & props that looked like they were made out of bubble gum. We didn't even have conforming clothes. Now this site alone has over 2000 free downloads. I got tired of deleting posts because someone turned it into a crusade against the evils of bbay, pricing, whatever. I even tried asking people to delete their posts to get the thread back on topic. But the worst ones always stood their ground ignoring my request. I just wonder if people ever stop to read what they are typing before they hit the enter key. This is all just an internet forum. What are people trying to prove. Anyway. Just reponding to the emails I got with a better explanation. :) Treat each other better, you'll have more fun. Anton

Hey guys, my email still works. :) Just use antonk68@aol.com I can only post so many hints and tips. My products are my art. If I can't have fun talking about those, why bother, right. I'll be back. I need a break I think. The online community is become to real. And I know you know what I mean. LOL. I think I want to start a Poser business guild. I have a lot of commercial experience and think the vendors need a resource for advice and each other.
JeffH posted Fri, 23 March 2001 at 3:57 AM
This site has nothing against commercial announcements at all. If you don't post about a new product how are we going to know it's for sale? Any artist who wishes to post here about a product they have available at another site can freely do so. It's fine with me. Once posted, you'll have to be able to roll with the public tide, that's just part of business. -JeffH.

Anton, I wish you all the best. Your latest masterpiece is just that: a masterpiece. I sometimes wonder how many people can truly understand the guts it takes to be an artist. It's like climbing Everest half the time. I think you are doing the right thing, in that you have to keep yourself centred and able to concentrate on what matters: the book, and your art. We will all miss you, but we were all made the richer and the better for your time amongst us.
Dave posted Fri, 23 March 2001 at 7:47 AM
I have to deal with criticism all the time here at work. Any art I generate always gets some form of tear down and I work in the art dept! Some people can be so narrow minded at times. Hope to see you back soon, Anton! Dave
grahamjames posted Fri, 23 March 2001 at 8:36 AM
It's sad to see anyone leave over criticism. I have no problem with people selling their stuff via this forum, in fact I think that this place has an excellent mix of ideas and help. I visit most days, don't post very often but "if ya got nothing sensible to say then shut up" is my motto. Perhaps, if the post relates to items for sale, a mention should be made in the subject heading - then people who don't want to look at what they can't afford (or won't pay)need never look at the post. I seem to remember there was a Dragon for sale somewhere but you could download it for free as a static prop so you could still use it but not pose it. Perhaps some of the vendors would consider this option - if you want to pose it you buy it, if you don't want to buy it then you make your scene around the static prop. Just an idea but it might help some of the less well off amongst the community whilst not detracting from sales to any great degree. Just my two pence worth (British) Graham

Damn Anton, you're the father of all the good skin textures out there! You're stuff is definitly worth paying for. Why any jackass would want to ruin such a valuable resource is beyond me. Hope you come back soon. Its not like you're charging an arm or a leg for your quality stuff. To you complainers out there; GET A LIFE! This is Renderosity not a frickin' soap opera.

We will miss you Anton. Know that I LOVE your work and whenever I can, I save up money to get your stuff, and if I can't I express my appreciation , save the whining, and save my pennies until I can. You are a great artist, and I'm sorry once again that it's always the dipshits that screw it up for others...I'll miss your input on things. It was always nice to have an experienced 3d artist of your calibur helping us newbies.

{I'm working on a book and spend to much time on the computer anyway. } THAT part I understand - though I do most of my writing ON the computer... ;-) Good luck Anton, and I hope you will reconsider this ban on posting. I can understand your frustration, but I'd suggest just posting normally, but not "hawking your wares" here, at least for a while. That way, those of us who know of your work and are both willing and able (sadly I've never fallen into all three categories simultaneously, due to a general lack of cash and being a bit absentminded when I do have some!), will know where to look for your new products, and those who need your assistance won't be deprived of your experience.

I hope I didn't influence your decision with what I said about the Vicky armor. I love your stuff, but for me the armor was not what I needed. I know that sometimes we go overboard on criticism, but please realize that only the most vocal post - good and bad. Ah, well. I'll still be popping by bbay every few days any way looking for stuff to buy. If the turkeys start getting you down, just remember, Thanksgiving isn't that far away. ;-)

I am sorry that you are going away , but I suppose everyone needs a break now and then . Personaly I feel that the items you have for sale are quite affordable and the geometry switching is great ( I have a few ideas that I am taking the same approach with ) . I have been planing to buy the Hi-res heads for the P4 male/female for a while I'm just too lazy to get my card verified . Don't feel to much like no one appreciates your work because it's not true . If you had not posted here I would not have known about BBay's art contest that I have entered . I jumped at the chance to win all that great stuff . Also the tips you gave about using a morphing prop to create hair are great , I have been working on creating my own hair that I may sell (if it's good enough) using your idea .

Hello Anton, I'm sorry to here you are leaving the community. I was directed to your work around about the time I joined here, The stuff you posted for free was excellent, The stuff you have for sale is excellent!! There are loads of spongers wanting stuff for nothing, yet they are never prepared to make something themselves and give it away, They are everywhere and I think some just like to moan. I try and stay away from threads like it, to be honest I dont have enough time to read it, It's normally a waiste of time! But sometimes I do waiste my time and it just leaves me woundering what is wrong with people? You are a very talented Artist. You must have studied a lot to get to were you are and you deserve a pat on the Back. As you can guess I'm a fan: ) Best regards, Darren
