just another poser addict wandering over here after getting C5P 1) wondering, do shaders have as much (or more) control than P6 mat room had? 2) if i create a complex shader in P6, then import scene to C5P will the shader detail/design stay the same? or will C5P change it to fit its nodes (or whatever they're called here :x) and lose detail due to lack ability?

I have limited experience with Poser's Mat Room, but based on my experiences, I would say C5Pro has much more powerful and flexible shading abilities. If using Transporter to bring in Poser objects, C5Pro will bring any P6 bitmaps in from the Poser scene. Fidelity seems to be quite good.

The shaders are quite powerful in carrara...just may need to make your own adjustments.

I recommend you doing your shading in Carrara once you import your poser models. The texture room in Carrara is much more powerful and easier to use.

I agree with Ringo. Poser is fairly clunky compared to Carrara but be sure to get at least Digital Carver Guild's ShaderOps for much more flexibility. Marc
