If I see different textures of Ice, It always pops-up in my mind that the Inu have so many words to describe the different forms of snow .. and I have no idea how these kinds of Ice should be called. I can describe the two forms only as : Ice look like glass and ice as if it is made out of snow on posting Ice Cold Textures (1) Ice look like glass but coloured by light on posting Ice Cold Textures (2) The coming weeks I will show more photos of these Ice sculptures and will tell more about it!! Thanks for viewing and your comments are at most welcome and appreciated!! Henk

Another fine looking entry. Great job!!!! #:O)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Just a little bit of an explanation: It is this year 400 years ago that Rembrandt was born in Leiden, Holland. One of the festivals to celebrate this are the sculptures made out of Ice and Snow re-presenting a few of Rembrandts most important or well known paintings!! In Ice Cold Textures (1) you see a detail of the Kidnapping of Granymedes In Ice Cold Textures (2) you see a detail of the Staalmeesters this photo was taken because of the special reflections of light and the colouring, but you can see some faces with hats as well!! In the exhibition hall it was cold, -8 degrees centigrade!! But fantastic!! Thanks for your kind comments!! Henk
