Does anybody know what happened to make the contrast so high on the image.

16 colors perhaps? drac

Yep, I agree with Drac. It looks like your display colors reverted to lowest setting. When you go to your desktop, or if you open other bitmaps do they look weird as well?

I don't think the Bryce interface would look that good in 16 colours. Assuming it's not a spurious glitch (restart Bryce and try the render again to find out), I'd suggest looking at the properties of the volumetric light/material (assuming that is one), perhaps in conjunction with render quality settings.

Here's a screen capture of the Bryce interface in 256 colours (my card/driver won't go lower). It actually looks slightly different on the screen than in the capture, but just as disgusting.

Might be that you zoomed out in your render window? Bryce does rather trippy color things sometimes when you're not viewing your render at 100% size. When you save the resulting render it'll be saved with normal colors though, so it's not that bad.

Yup, Ray has it. Zooming out causes this distortion. I reported the bug, but I just got back that they received it. And nothing since then.

Good call, Rayraz. Your reward is a big sloppy kiss from a naked Vicky in a temple with a grim skin disease, missing an eye and no back to her head. Cor, eh?!

settings: 1024 x 768 32bit color when i log on (at school), bryce is in normal crisp clean mode when my friend is on, it goes to this crappy display. it also renders in that high contrasty image too. all settings are the same at school and home.
