That was this thread - though I don't think what you're seeing here is the same effect, especially if this is the Poser square since that's effectively a single polygon. On the other hand, if you're using the high resolution plane, have you tried it with the single sided square instead?Okay, it can't really be back-facing polygons - not if there's only one, by definition it has to be pointing the same way as itself. It may be a render settings problem, though. Can you give more detail, such as the version of Poser, which renderer you used, maybe some idea of the settings, and whether you've tried other settings; if so, with what effect?
Somebody asked for an example of one-sided squares that don't render right. ..that would be me. And... I remain baffled. Does this only happen with 'some' models? ie. how come the little man rendered correctly? Did you mess with displacement on all of is materials too? I agree with EB - Something's goofy here... must be something with your settings. Could you do the right render again, but delete the texture node (leave the transmap, just get rid of the texture so we can see the problem more clearly) and then post a shot of your material settings?

Golly... I spent hours over the course of several days, trying 3 dozen variations, to track down specifically what was causing it. Results are frequently hard to duplicate. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The order which you create the various comparison props seems to have something to do with it. I came up with a solution at least twice... then later found out my solution wasn't working. The best I can do is add a BLACK DISPLACEMENT item to the one-sided square in the materials room... and I've had no problems since. If the see-through effect occurs... you'll probally NEVER get rid of it! You have to delete the square and start anew. I am not about to spend another few hours generating various examples for you. If interested, investigate it yourself. Sorry Bill

Tree on right is incorrect... I fixed on left by setting the displacement in the material room to black.
Seems dumb... but it works.
