I have played around with different settings to fit one character's clothes to another character, usually not too well, but OK for a still render.I've seen some great programs to "convert" clothes to fit different characters, The Tailor etc. My problem, one of many, is shortage of the green stuff. I was wondering if anyone has seen freeware/shareware versions that would do the same, or, a SIMPLE tutorial on how to do it another way. Could it be done using Morph Manager? Ash9803

I've managed to fit a V3 corset to Ingenue Vicki using just scaling and magnets in Poser itself. I exported the deformed corset as .OBJ, reimported it, applied the Ingenue Vicki bones in the Setup Room and saved the result in the Figure Library. Then I used CR2builder (free by kim99) to strip out unnecessary morphs and materials, and copy in morphs from the original corset. I did the same routine converting some V2 sandals to V3. Works for me. There's a bit more to the process than explained in this short post. If I ever find the time, I might write a complete tutorial.

Thanks svdl,
I'm really only a novice to Poser, and some of the things you described I have no idea how to do properly (only just played around with it), eg. applying bones, stripping morphs etc. But thanks heaps for your reply. Maybe I should stick to my current method until I become smarter with Poser (or richer)whichever happens first.

I'd advise not to go too far too fast. Transferring conforming clothes from one figure to another is NOT simple. I don't have Wardrobe Wizard, but as far as I know, that's the only tool that works. The Tailor won't do it. It might be better to just start out with using Poser. First the Pose room (guess you already know how to use that), the Material room would be next. Dynamic cloth (the Cloth room) is definitely worth spending some of your time on (and dynamic cloth is relatively painless when it comes to fitting clothes that were meant for other figures). The Hair room is interesting, but also daunting. It's difficult to get things right. The Face room - I've never used it. And the Setup room comes in when you're going to make or alter your own figures. Only useful when you know your way in a .CR2 file, have learned what joint parameters are and how they work, stuff like that. The Setup room by itself is not enough to make a conforming clothing item, you also need a CR2 editor.
