Some great filters there Stephen Ray. Here's a great site that has been mentioned before, but there are always new folks coming to the Bryce Forum. Craquelure 3D Freeware-Updated to ver. 1.35, An extremely useful plug-in for generating both techno and organic textures. Has a terrific "brick" filter that is scalable, and one preset that looks like alien sanskrit. Great for heightmaps too! Water Ripples Freeware- great little filter for what else? Water ripples. Lattice Composer Freeware -The classic plugin that spawned a tutorial and I believe a monthly Bryce challenge. Great for making textures or heightmaps, and a lot of fun. Jama 3D Freeware- kind of a ripply filter-I used it to make a corrugated metal texture. Seamless Workshop- A filter for making seamless textures. All these are available for free download at http://redfieldplugins.com/

holy buckets, now I have all the resources, and none of the knowledge..;) Is there one specific way to get these into the Gimp? (I'm getting redundant on this, 2nd request in as many posts..;)
I should see if I can find a Gimp forum and bug them..;)

I don't know from Photoshop (I've taken a few online 'classes', but installation, etc., wasn't covered..;) but I'm wondering if Gimp plugins would work in Photoshop? I know there's a pile of Gimp filters out there..most reachable from the Gimp site..

what a great thread! someone should make this one stick or something? does anyone know where to find the KPT filters? I saw some threads from years ago where some guy was using them to do all kinds of cool stuff, Equalizer or something?
artnik posted Tue, 14 February 2006 at 11:25 AM
Try Googling for KPT filters or plugins. I bet there are tons of places to find them out there!
pakled posted Tue, 14 February 2006 at 12:31 PM
do KPT filters work with Photoshop? probably I'm showing my age, but I thought KPT had something to do with early versions of Bryce, or possibly earlier than that..;)

I guess Corel,(shudders at having to mention that name), has released KP6 under their appropriately titled "Procreate" brand.

Oh yes Pakled, I have KPT 3,5,6 and KPT Effects. KPT 6 carries the Equalizer filter. These filters are not free but they sometimes came bundled with other packages.InfernalDarkness posted Tue, 14 February 2006 at 5:16 PM
yes, those are the ones Quest. any ideas what happened to KPT 4? I wonder what we missed out on!
Stephen Ray posted Tue, 14 February 2006 at 9:05 PM
KPT 3 was included with Bryce 4, not sure about Bryce 5 or 5.5 (( does anyone know where to find the KPT filters )) I just bought KPT collection on Ebay for $42 It comes with all the filters from KPT 5, 6 and effects. I already have KPT 3, 5, and 6. But I could not find a version of KPT effects ( AKA, KPT 7 ) So I bought the collection to get the effects filters. KPT, was one of Metacreations software....I always said Coral got Bryce as a bonus when they bought the KPT series and Painter from Meta. There were no takers for Bryce when Meta sold out all their Programs
