I tried to take a few in Manhattan last night, but it was coming down so fast and so wet all the shots are full of big white blobs. :^( Plus,I had to take them from a moving car...which meant I had to use the flash...at least so far as I know...Would there have been another way,to do it?Like shutter priority and a higher ISO?I don't know anything about taking this kind of night shot...

I just heard on the news that the storm is keeping loads of our NHL-players to reach the Olympics. #:o( DAMN YOU YANKS!!!! You had this all figured out didnt ya? Sigh. #:oP Marlene...play around with what you just mentioned....different shutter speed and ISO-settings, and soon enough youll find a setting that works for you. I wouldnt recommend the flash when shooting falling snow though. Joe took a really good first shot there, maybe he can share what kind of settings he had. #:O) Hmm...is that a Hyundai Santa Fe i see hiding behind that bush? Sigh...i need to buy a car already and get it over with....
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Even if it's at night with no tripod?Won't it be super-grainy? Didn't know that about the NHL...sorry...guess you'll just have to wait to lose... :^P

@Chris...I think there is a few of us here who could MAIL you some REAL snow if you want (and YOU too CYN)(LOL!)
Hey Marlene...the only thing that really bothers me about your image is it seems kinda "cut-off"! If you had the whole sign post in frame (a lower angled shot), I think this would have been awesome! I know being in the car probably made composing pretty difficult though! Y'know, the B&W toning gives this a very "NOIR" film-like quality!

Thanks Joe...Like you,I did that with Virtual Photographer, lol. And yes,I wish I had more of that post...but it's awfully hard to compose from a moving vehicle! ;^)
