could be the texture map used but your lighting is also not very good :P

Yes..I know the lighting is not very good. I keep changing to get rid of the problem. Pic 2 was using "Radiance Pro Lights" purchased in the RMP here. Also happens with any type of texture maps. Not only the one shown.

I only know about RSS second hand, so maybe I'm wrong here. One of the things RSS does (again I think) is put in variations procedurally, to create more realistic skin which is rarely smooth and homogeneous. Those gray spots look like overdone freckles. Is there a freckle dial on RSS?
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Yes, their is. I have the dial at zero for freckles (Spots). face_off needs to update his help website on the updated RSS. What each dial does (Example Pics). Trying to get a handle on Fake Subsurface Scattering. The website shows pics how the nods are setup.

Robo2010 This is probably a foolish question, What version of Poser are you using?? I think Poser 6 likes Unimesh Realism Kit or P6 Character Realism Kit. Cheers DR

Looks like too much fresnel. Maybe too much "blush" as well.

RE: Using P6. Written in post#1 There is are three products Real Skin Shader - Poser 5 or Poser 6 HyperREAL for V3 - Poser 5 Unimesh Realism Kit for Poser 6 I am wondering if RSS acts diferently in Poser 6. Why is there a Unimesh Realism Kit? Cheers DR

Sorry I'm onto this late. I can repsond to these things quicker if you post on the support forum at http://physicalc-software.com/forum. Anyway - what is it exactly that you are having? I can see a halo round her head, and some spotting? On close-up head shots, lower the fresnel to 0.2 or 0.25 (from 0.3) - that will clear up the small spots. The halo is due to your lighting - there are lots of backlights, which cause that to happen. There are some probs will lots of lights - the primary one being that you can't set shadow up on them all, or the render will take 24hrs, which leads to bad cases of nostril glow, as you are experiencing. Stick with 2-5 lights, and follow the shadow suggestions at http://physicalc-software.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20. Use an IBL at 20% intensity as a fill light. Hope that helps.
