We have the choice of posting about mysterious crap. And after choosing to do so, we have the choice of keeping it mysterious. Which may not be possible if we've taken our choice to choose leaving for a while. Which does present us with another choice...

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Johnny, alotta stuff is going on everywhere, not just here. you won't improve things by trying to escape it.

The "crap" is just part of the deal. We, as artists (some as "ar-teests", if you prefer), have to develop the ability to discern the crap from the...Well, form the non-crap. The Anticrap, if you will, and what better place to do it than here? Sure, you can walk in the park following the nocturnal creature's paths and note for yourself, "That is crap right there. That to the left is an oka tree, and therefore not crap; that piece of paper is a transcript of George W Bush's last speech and therefore is not... Well, sometimes the line is kinda blurry. The point is, you, me, and everyone else are surrounded by crap, fed a regular diet of crap, and are constantly dodging the crap and hoping it doesn't get stuck to our shoes. Among many other things it offers, this site offers a unique experience in the recognition and ignoring of...crap. So, as you can see, it actually is a public service, as well. And if you have managed to avoid reading this particular reply, you are already well on your way towards "Craprecognition". If not, more practice is needed.

wizardtim posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 6:19 PM

The crap starts from the top. You know the old saying" S--t rolls downhill".

kawecki posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 6:53 PM

In some places S--t rolls uphill.

Stupidity also evolves!

wizardtim posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 6:57 PM

"In some places S--t rolls uphill. " It's called parenthood.

MikeJ posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 6:59 PM

Kawecki said, "In some places S--t rolls uphill."

That is a rather vague statement, and also contrary to established knowledge regarding the physics of s--t and its interactions with hills.

I trust you have the calculations to prove this theory?

" Kawecki said, "In some places S--t rolls uphill." That is a rather vague statement, and also contrary to established knowledge regarding the physics of s--t and its interactions with hills." There are many places where a car with motor off and without brakes slowly goes up the hill. "I trust you have the calculations to prove this theory?" I also want to know how the scientists explain this observable fact.

Stupidity also evolves!

MikeJ posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 7:32 PM

"Uh, this is a concept called "humor". It is meant to make others laugh. Is this concept foreign to you?" Hyooo....mor? Of what is this you speak? It is a combination of the Japanese or maybe Chinese word "hu" and the British English word "Mour", meaning, "More Far East", I believe. Right? ************************ "I also want to know how the scientists explain this observable fact." I asked first. :)

kawecki posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 7:59 PM

I don't know, I have no scientific explanation, only can experiment it.

Stupidity also evolves!

MikeJ posted Wed, 15 February 2006 at 8:14 PM

OK.

I refer you then to Newton's Fourth Law of Crappular Motion (not to be confused with the Immodium Law of Boweldynamics).

The physics of the matter is loosely related to the Coriolis Effect where the direction of the flow of the toilet water varies depending on whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere.

In essence, gravity attracts crap.

"The physics of the matter is loosely related to the Coriolis Effect where the direction of the flow of the toilet water varies depending on whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere." It's only a male's theory, your wife can tell by practical experience that water swirls in both directions.

Stupidity also evolves!

thanks for clarifying that for us, ricardo Message671422.jpg

pearce posted Thu, 16 February 2006 at 6:23 AM

Nobody's yet quoted sf writer Theodore Sturgeon: "Ninety percent of everything is crap", so I will. A pedant writes:- The Coriolis force is far too feeble to have any effect on fluids on the scale of toilet bowl contents, or plug-holes for that matter, being entirely overwhelmed by fluid motion due to thermal convection, residual angular momentum, and other small localised forces. Shysters in equatorial regions impress gullible tourists, showing them bowls with water going down plugholes in opposite directions either side of the equator line (drawn on the ground). This is a conjuring trick and you should not fall for it, especially if money is demanded. Now, where did I put that life? :D

"where the direction of the flow of the toilet water varies depending on whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere." You have toilet water? We only have a hole in the ground. I didn't realise I was mixing with such posh people.

kawecki posted Thu, 16 February 2006 at 7:07 AM

Only a hole in the ground?, you must be happy, you're a priviledged rich person. There are so many people that even haven't a hole.

Contrast, repetition, alignment & proximity - fundamentals of design discussed by Robin Williams in her book, "The Non-Designers Design Book."

It's an excellent book on design.

And this site should be full of crap.
