ICM 2006 Benoit Mandelbrot Fractal Art Contest Call for Fractal ArtistsTo coincide with the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2006 event held in Madrid, Spain at the end of August, a collection of fractal art will be exhibited as well. Professor Benoit Mandelbrot himself has agreed to lend his name to the exhibition (and he will be a plenary speaker at ICM).
Many of the artworks to be included in this exhibition will be selected from the results of a contest--this contest. ANYONE MAY PARTICIPATE! We invite you to submit up to three (3) images to be considered for inclusion in this exhibition. A panel of judges will review all the entries and select ones to be printed, framed, and put on display.
For complete details, included all the rules, please visit the contest web site:

Please pay particular attention to the size requirements; if your artwork is selected, you will need to be able to provide a high- resolution version of your image for printing. Post-processing of images IS ALLOWED but you absolutely must be able to send a larger version.
As a special note, although this is the "Benoit Mandelbrot" Fractal Art Contest, we don't require your submissions to be from the Mandelbrot set. All fractals are welcome submissions. We don't care what software you use, we want to see your best fractal art. We're accepting submissions from now through May 1, so you've got plenty of time to create something special.
This notice is freely distributable, provided it is not altered. It would be helpful, but is not required, to let me know where else you post it so I can avoid duplication.
