I'm in the process of creating a web page, and I am looking for a user friendly, newbie friendly, point and click, what you see is what you get, web creation program (am I asking for too much). Any ideas on a good, affordable one. I know this is unrelated to Poser, but once the page is created, I'll post my poser stuff on it. Does that count?) Dragontales

If you have M$ Word 97, it'll do it. The resulting code ain't pretty, but it'll work. Also, search on google.com for free wysiwyg html editor. That'll point ya to some.

I had two really good free/shareware editors, on by something like FullMoon software, that came with the various books I've picked up on web stuff. Most HTML and JavaScript books will have a hand full of cheap editors included.

Take a look at First Page. It is supposed to be very good, and it's free. http://www.evrsoft.com/

Macromedia's Dreamweaver 4.0 is a must have... Not only is it a great wysiwg tool it is an awesome learning tool as well. They built the entire "Orilley" html and javascript books into the program. You can select any code that it generates then click on the icon for a full description.. Kind of like a dictionary for scripting. Most of the common task are handled by easy to use object and properties bar. The learning curve on the program is minimal, and combined with Fireworks it is invaluable. There is endless books and videos to speed up the learning curve. I just read a recent report that said that 77% of all sites made in the world are made with Macromedia products mainly Dreamweaver and Flash. Check out Lynda.com they have little videos describing some of the basics.... Good luck!

One more thing that I forgot to mention... There is a preset in Dreamweaver called make photo album, that if you have both Dreamweaver and Fireworks.... the programs will automatically generate your thumbnails place them in a page(s) and automatically generate the pages and the links that will display the large image. You can even do batch processing on the image compression.... Endless time saving tools... Not to get too far into this,,,, there are FREE extensions on Macromedia Exchange that enable Dreamweaver to generate even more detailed "photo displays, using JavaScripts that generates custom sized popup windows for all your images. (you dont even need to ever look at a line of code to do this). All of this can be done by placing your master images in one folder selecting a couple of items like "what size thumbnail" , "What is the title of your Thumbnail page" click done and the two programs go to work saving you ENDLESS HOURS of manual work......... I used to do this by hand, I can not tell you how happy I was when I discovered this feature. keep this URL---- The site is not posted yet(currently displaying random junk)... I will be posting Dreamweaver tutorials online... http://www.pmaonline.net . I am almost finished with the new site.

EZPad 3 is a good tool for creating webpages. Wizards and everything....version 4 is in development now. 1st page is excellent too...but it misses some important tags and wizards.

As far as WYSIWYG, one of the most important things, it would seem, is how "safe" is the HTML that's being put into it. If you want free, I can tell you that good old fashined "Composer", which is included with the Netscape browser. It's not exactly the most "action-packed" html editor you'll find, but it is totally WYSIWYG. it seems to have a few bugs in the "save" department, so if you decide to give it a try, make sure you check out your saves before exiting. One good thing about it is that there's very little chance that any html pages made with it will be butchered by any browsers.
