Subject: Complex terrain, how to do ?

I'm trying to create a fairly complex terrain similar to the following:

Lot's of building attempt using standard, procedural and imported terrains, but poor result, see the World Machine imported terrain below:

Any advice about how to correctly setup this kind of terrain will be really welcomed, thanking in advance!

In the Backroom, the tutorials section has an Advanced Terrain tutorial by Czarnyrobert. He also has a tutorial available at Cornucopia 3D on procedurals, but I don't have it yet, so I can't tell you about it. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will take a look at it.

That "Procedural Terrains" tutorial at C3D is very good, IMO. Gets into the Function Editor (of course) and explains how to make materials that look good in forground AND mid distance AND distant mountains, plus lots of beautiful terrains and effects.

Highly recommended!
