If you have poser 5 or 6 then you can use avi`s as textures.

Thanks for the input. I tried poser 6 but it did the same thing, and i didnt see avi as an import option in the matrials dialog..

In the material room, right click and select new node>2d textures and then movie.

I've never been able to get it to work either. No idea why.

works for me

It works well. Just remember that the area you are applying the avi to must be in the same general ratio as the avi, or else it will stretch. And the area should be UV mapped for best results.

Any ideas? Which video codec are you using? Can you post a screenshot of your material-room settings?

Yup...did with my freebie prop. Also I have a pedway with a visual display. On it can use a avi nod.

Have a look at my transporter prop... http://www.sparkyworld.co.uk/3d8own.htm This will show you whats possible and how easy these are to make, I did make a freebie starfield video warpfield as well (see attcahed). But the zip is over 3mb and based on the downloads for the transporter that would seriously cane my bandwidth. If anyone wants to give it a home, so other folks can download it, IM me.
