Actually, Quest, it's really not long enough because you still missed my points entirely in your personal vendetta-agenda towards some artist who you seem convinced is the same as I. There are TOS provisions regarding insults and slander, and you violate them blatantly in your attempts to defame me and this LSD person. I recently posted a message insulting the same person, "lordstormdragon", and referred to this person as a "wacko". My message was immediately deleted by the forum moderator. You obviously are much more important in the realm of 3D imaging and are sacrosanct when it comes to these kinds of things. I came to Renderosity a few months ago against everyone's better judgement from other sites, the main issue being unprofessional attitudes. But I'd also heard that Renderosity had the biggest and best Bryce Forum around! "There are people here who know me, I dont feel particularly compelled enough to demonstrate my decency to you. In fact, Ive put up with your rambling rant instead of telling you to go take a hike early on so I would consider that decent of me." I see why this site retains it's reputation in the CG community, and it's laughable that you can get away with insulting multiple entities in one message with no repercussions. A popularity game amongst amateurs. Go ahead and tell me to "take a hike", Quest, and I'll go ahead and ignore your request because you have no authority whatsoever. Your version of decency is limited to being polite only because you don't want to ruin your reputation amongst peers. Enforced decency isn't decency at all, but censorship. I do enjoy stating my viewpoints, as you enjoy stating yours. I don't expect nor desire an apology from you, Quest, as an apology from such an angry person wouldn't really mean anything. Nor have you done anything wrong, you are entitled to your opinion about anything you choose to type about. I haven't trashed innocent victims, but you have tried to trash me openly and without remorse. What did this LSD person do to you? Why do you let someone control your emotions so readily? My goal here was to stem the flow of fear you spread into other readers. Hijack your thread? I didn't realize that ownership was the issue here, I thought it was sexual offense that was the Off-Topic Topic. And you say it's not up for debate as if you actually OWN these ideas, this website, and the very concept of sexual-offense legislation? Contrare, Quest. All things are up for debate in a forum, which is why they call it a "forum". If you didn't want any responses, you shouldn't have posted in the first place, but perhaps emailed the site to anyone important to you or something. "When people disagree they offer proof and references for their disagreement. So far, youve offered nothing." To disagree requires none of these elements. I have offered my ideas, my opinions, and my experience. This is as much "nothing" as all of your concepts, which are merely opinons as well. On top of that, you have been blatantly violent in your concepts and ideas, repeatedly talking about killing people you have never even met. Regardless of their criminal acts, your very intentions are vindictive and criminal. Killing a rapist is still murder. How is it that you are different from the very people you claim to despise? From a psychological perspective you perpetuate the exact hatreds and violences which you loathe, which is exactly the kind of thinking that keeps hatred and bigotry flowing through humanity. You have offered only ideas that you borrowed from others, and no original thoughts whatsoever. The media plays it's never-ending mind control methods through you like a radio, including the fear-inducing and mind-numbing propoganda typical of post-9/11-America. Fearism is the tool of the powerful to keep the weak in submission, and you reverberate this concept with great passion. Keep people afraid, keep them locked in their homes too scared of their own neighbors, keep them insecure, on-edge, and quaking with the possibility of further pain-of-life. But hey, if it makes you feel better to take out your pain, aggression, and anger on a total stranger, do what you must. I am happy to be your psychological vent! Perhaps in a dozen years they'll have websites showing where all the angry, vindictive, arrogant people live so I can keep my children away from your fear-based lifestyle. We'll call it "Infernal Darkness's Law" and then I'll go into some thread on THAT topic to make sure people get the other side of the coin.

Ok, Personal Update here on my cousin. I've spoken to him about his name being on that registry and he informed me of the facts of the case, which I'd already pretty much guessed on my own. Back in the early 90's he was going through a very bitter divorce and at that time, his wife's sister made alegations against him improperly touching her. It went all the way to court and his public defender told him to plead because it was too hard to prove either way. He did so and now has a conviction for Sodemy (That's Anal Sex to the uninformed) on his record that forces him to verify his living address every 90 days. How they got Sodomy out of improper touching is beyond my kin. Long story short, his wife and her family set out to destroy my cousin and did a damn good job on a damn fine person. Because of this, he's now wearing his scarlet letter and living in fear of people like Quest who think he's some kinda pedophile simply because his name's on that list. Moral of the story, that list doesn't show the whole story and if you judge someone by it, you can end up just as guilty of violence as the people you have judged! Scarlet Letters were wrong in the days of the Pilgrims and they remain wrong now.

(laughs!) That was good, PJF. Gotta give you credit where it's due... (by the way, did you use Pro-Render for that one?)

Quest ( ) posted Thu, 09 March 2006 at 9:16 PM · edited Thu, 09 March 2006 at 9:27 PM

LOL, I like that PJF, very well done. Serves to emphasis my regards concerning certain anomalies in this thread.

Well, if in fact youre not LSD, my apologies go to LSD. As far as the TOS go, if you think the last post was bad, you should have seen the rough draft, I just thought Id tone it down a little. Renderosity has nothing to do with my posts. In fact I know no one who is on Renderosities staff. But you happily continue to jump to conclusions and take what I say out of context to your hearts content to suit your agenda and Ill not stand still for it. I wont stand by and have you put words in my mouth as youve been doing. Its as simple as that. You dont like it? Thats tough.

Actually I just wanted to bring attention to the registry and leave it as that. Either people would see it for what it is, the tool it is intended to be and it wasnt to be a debate. Period! The reason no debate is needed is as Ive conveyed throughout this thread, is that it already is the law of the land and therefore, nothing to debate. It past the House overwhelmingly and is a long awaited law, obviously as the vast majority of Americans indicate going by the numbers.

You did trash innocent people and you can go back in the posts and read it. Are you trying to tell me, and others that you didnt say the things you said?

You couldnt stem the water flowing from your faucet much less anything else. You keep bloviating and exaggerating this aurora of fear that supposedly according to you encompasses people who view and use the registry. Obviously fear being a fixating topic for yours.

The registry is the topic here, not some La La Land trollop through the realm of fear with Infernal Darkness as your guide and shaming people into believing that this is fear working here. Thats nonsense! The numbers suggest you are flat out wrong. If you dont agree with the registry (but you already admitted you dont think theres anything wrong with it) then, thats fine,

Psychological perspective huh? Youre trying to impress people because you think you know something about psychology. You really have no idea who youre talking to. Theres absolutely no hatred in my bones. I do have some prejudices which Im happy to confront face on and I have, personally a product of working out of the cycle. I wouldnt wish anyone the worstto an extent. You think in your Utopian make belief world, which has been around for thousands of years without fruition especially amongst college people, that you have the answers. Tell us, what is the answer to this abomination? Ohhhh, you have no answers. Not surprising. But sexual offenses are in the decline and the registry has helped and will continue to help.

You let me know when you derive ideas which are strictly yours and no one else has thought about. I think, that would be magnificent!

As scientists often do, they build on their predecessors work. Cases in point Copernicus, Keplar, Einstein, Hawkings. At least they gave credit to those that came before them. Oh, you have a better idea? Based on what?

But hey, if it makes you feel better to take out your pain, aggression, and anger on a total stranger, do what you must.

You silly stupid being, always making assumptions without any quantification, what can I say? You feel slighted? Write to your congressman. Better yet, IM me for my home address. Youre welcome to visit NYC. Ive visited Oregon, one of my best places if you get rid of some the scum there. Just my opinion.

Right We'll call it "Infernal Darkness's Law". You really think we can call it that? Can we have ice-cream and candies while we wait for a real law? What do ya say we have no disease or deaths either?

Mizrael, Im truly sorry that you have been exposed to this within your family. But I think youve done the best thing in confronting your cousin especially if you have young children. Surely, his sister-in-law did not take this accusation lightly and must have had a reason to bring charges against him. People just dont do this out of the blue.

I do have some experience in the criminal system here in New York City and I dont really want to throw a damper on you, but all prisoners in jail and in court say they are innocent. Its up to you to decide, and you have a great weight on your shoulders if you have children to decide on trust within the family. Mind you, your cousin should have known better when he copped a plea. If he decided to cop a plea, he has no one to blame but himself that his name is in the list.

I await the next blown out, taken out of context response.

@Mizrael That is a terrible thing to have happen. Whats worse is that he was given such poor advice. Unfortunately, there are people who will lie, without regard of the consequences. History is full of documented cases of this. It would be nice, if the people were not capable of lying, it would make the justice system work so much better. I still believe that the registry can be used as a tool for good purposes. Unfortunately, there will be innocent victims in all aspects of life.

vasquez ( ) posted Fri, 10 March 2006 at 1:18 AM

@Guesto
Your proud defence of the law is admirable.
I agree with you, when you say that a government has to protect innocent from murderers. All those Jessica or Megan were first victims of a murder other than a rape. The beasts that rape children should be castrated chemically or jailed life-long.
You post a lot of argumentation to your hypothesis, I admire your research attitude, I'm still not sure how can be a watchdog related to the attitude of a insane potential sexual molester.

I do not agree to what is happening in our countries, but I'm not able to reply to you in such a complete way, mainly because of english skills.
But I'd like to write the core of my doubts about this law.

The government failed in recover these criminals, and failed in protecting the community. So he deciced to let the community watch and protect for itself.
This is totally wrong, this means that the govermment failed in it's first role. period.

May I suggest to watch the italian movie "the beast in the heart" it was candidated for the american academy awards. this year.

@Quest again. Me and some others did not agree to this thread, and stated that this was off topic and dangerous.
You replied that it was not for debate and moreover:
"Fifthly, if youre not familiar with or a student of American politics and law then you should try to adhere to the cautions provided in the subject (US only) meaning that the subject matter pertained to US matters. Not that everyone else was exempt. Students of history, anthropology, sociology, criminology, philosophy, logistics, and law are welcomed. As are those that have honest questions."
That's the reason why you posted such a thread in an international (I said international) CG forum.

@Mizrael
"He did so and now has a conviction for Sodemy"
Is sodomy a crime? Is oral sex to a president not a crime? What is happening? (jokes apart, I'm really sorry to hear that).

InfernalDarkness ( ) posted Fri, 10 March 2006 at 2:01 AM

Well so it comes down to sheer arrogance and ignorance, as is fitting since this thread started out as such, Quest. "You silly, stupid being..." Is that the best you can do? After all your intentions and arguments to the contrary, you still attempt to insult my intelligence and humanity? I contacted lordstormdragon via another website, highend3d.com. Turns out he doesn't even live in Oregon, Quest. He lives in Seattle. And considering his success in the industry, I found it totally unsuprising the things he said about the Bryce community here. So everyone in Oregon deserves your scorn and abuse, based off some hatred you have towards a previous and now non-existing member of Renderosity? You didn't even have your focus of hatred right! You've shown your true colors, and they are beautiful. Hatred, fear, malevolence, revulsion, and revenge. You must really be jealous of lordstormdragon's artwork, to say such things and to feel so intimidated by this person. I know what it's like to be just starting out in CGI, Quest, but being envious and scornful just because someone has more experience than you and is far more successful? That's downright pathetic, as we'd say in Kansas.

Quest ( ) posted Sat, 11 March 2006 at 5:08 PM · edited Sat, 11 March 2006 at 5:11 PM

(Chuckling to myself)Confabulations unlimited. The distorting and exaggerations continue obviously due to lack of original imagination and absurdity. Tiresome, contriving, delusional and redundant while still grasping at straws, a candidate for the Loose Screw Award. You left Kansas a long, long time ago.

@Vasquez. I posted this same thread, at the same time, in other forums and blogs and it didnt get the negativity or the off the wall response that it got here. As usual there was the initial concern about vigilantism, which is understandable but by and large, the thread has been well received. People from other countries who have participated in them often said they would wish that they had something similar in their countries. I dont know how things are in your native country of Italy when it concerns these horrific crimes of child abuse and killings but here, this is what has been decided overwhelming by the people to be done and it seems to be working. Rather than sitting by with no solutions at all, most people would prefer to do this although it may not be the perfect solution to the problem but this will do for the time being. The good outweighs the bad. Maybe one-day people wont have to resort to this but for now, it works for us.

The beasts that rape children should be castrated chemically or jailed life-long.

At least here we can both agree. Personally I would go for John Walshs explosive microchip implantation.

@ Mizrael: I just want to clarify something you accuse me of:

Because of this, he's now wearing his scarlet letter and living in fear of people like Quest who think he's some kinda pedophile simply because his name's on that list.

Quest never thought or said your cousin is a pedophile. Nowhere in this thread do I ever say any such thing. If you indeed went to the web site then you clicked on some colored icon. The color of that icon indicates the type of crime as I explained back in post 15:

Red=Offense against children, yellow=rape, blue=sexual battery and green=other offense.

Ive said enough and I grow weary of this thread that has been gutted from its intended purpose. So unless something of relevance is posted, chances are I wont be adding anything else to it. Also know that I disabled the message response ebot many years ago so I wont be notified of any postings, so if you do post in earnest and dont get a response then you may only get a response if I decide to search this thread out in the future. My appreciation and thanks to those who have emailed me.

If that's not basically saying my cousin is a pedophile, I don't know what is. Through out this thread you've basically insinuated that anyone on that list is a threat to children as well or I wouldn't have picked up on it. Just because you never said it using a direct statement doesn't mean that you haven't insinuated it throughout this thread.

Just because someone can't afford a lawyer and has to take a public defender's advice, it doesn't make them guilty of anything other than poverty. Copping a plea, as you call it, is a very harsh way of putting it that he took his lawyer's advice. Not everyone is educated in the legal system and their rights and my cousin certainly wasn't, nor could he afford someone who was. The reason I'm taking my cousin's word is because I recall all the things his ex-wife and her family did to make his life miserable at the time they were going through the divorce, and they are and were quite capable of making up bogus charges. I pretty much assumed that it had to do with her when I found his name on the list.

When he confirmed it when we talked it just made me angry at our systematic legalised unforgiveness in this society's legal system. The concept of paying for your crimes no longer seems to apply and nobody is given credit for being able to change. Once a criminal always a criminal. It's a sad indictment on a legal system that claims to have some basis in christianity and biblical laws. Where's the forgiveness?

Going back to my reference on the "The Scarlet Letter", doesn't anyone remember that the moral of the story was that Legalised Morality is not a good thing and that laws of this type are unjust? Esther Prin had to wear a scarlet letter for something she didn't do and it ruined her life. Likewise, I see this law in much the same light.

Okay. ;o) The info has been given, opinions expressed. While certain OT subjects come and go, we need to try and keep OT subjects informational and to the point. Although, obviously a subject like this will always provoke in depth discussion, we need to have some sort of ceiling to reach, before any amount of OT subjects turn a graphics forum into an all out OT forum. I appreciate all your opinions and thoughts on this, it IS something people should discuss, imho. Yet, here and now at Renderosity we have to try and stay on the focus of graphics. Thanks all and take care. AgentSmith
