heyas; was just flipping through the art galleries here, and one guy had this link to buy posters of his work: www.buildaposter.com/ looks like a couple poser/vue/other artists there, as well. hmmm! and nobody told ME!??! check 'em out. i didnt peek at all the details (ie: how much for the artists' cut). also, dunno if i support them letting people upload any image to print. i mean, at least they didnt say 'print any image on the web' (which i hate). still, it is only one step removed from that for somebody to see an image on the web, save it, then upload it to this place. on the other hand, as an artist, you can have a catalogue of images with them. check it out. I wasn't too amused with the Upload your "origional" photos in quotes... almost like a sly way of saying they know you might be uploading stuff that's not yours or origional. Still, it does look interesting... Btw, how is the artist prints project here coming along?

I'm the guilty party! I have just signed up with buildaposter.com I emailed the admin there about renderosity this morning, (once my images were up I knew the place was not a scam). Not so long ago there was a disscusion about renderosity offering a print service. It would be a great Idea if both companys could join forces so that members of the community could have a place to sell thier workIronbear posted Thu, 29 March 2001 at 7:40 AM
Cool... that's great egrafx. It's real great that it's not a scam, also. ;]

heyas; well, selling artists' prints through the catalogue isn't a scam, of course. still, that doesn't stop the other practice of accepting potentially copyright-infringing material on the other side of things. they DO make a point about copyrights etc etc, and basically hold the uploader liable for any infringing they do. which means you have to catch the individual who's used your artwork.... which, unless you go to their house and see the poster hanging on the wall, ain't too bloody likely. that's my thought, and yes, i'm a overwound about the subject. any other thoughts?

hi (i'm new here waves), i got an invite from buildaposter a while back (i don't know why or how they picked me), checked out their site, and decided to let it slide... basically, you are uploading you work for anyone to manipulate and composite with other pictures... i wasn't too keen on that. i'm not even keen on others resizing my finished images, let alone compositing with horrid text or other people's art! imho, if you just want to print, contact them directly and buy printing service... then sell the prints at your own site or communities like this. i also recommend ellenmilliongraphics.com (if i recall correctly) - she can do prints of your digital pics onto CANVAS, how cool is that? :) tell her April from Australia sent you ;) ----- April april.digitalart.org

heyas; well, if they stiff the artists, they'll soon have no more artists.... i found some copyrighted art in the user catalogue, as well. stuff scanned off calendars and whatnot. i don't think i will go with their service.
