I'm after some advice on how best to create a ship's bow wake for this work in progress image. I know I could probably do something in Photoshop but I'd prefer to try and get it 'in camera'. Thanks, Mak

Check the Backroom here and click on Water - some really good tips there! :) Irene

Really nice job!
Not so easy to get such a perfect sun and sky.

Looking forward to the final render...

BTW, on my (calibrated) monitor, the shadowed parts of ship look a wee bit dark.

A good tutorial on wakes and foam here: http://www.paroge.com/vde/tutorial/default.htm I can also recommend "Sea Vue" by Monsoon - available over at 3dCommune.com, it has some very good effects in it. For a simple wake I sometimes use the text letter "V". Make it big, round the edges, apply a foam texture and position carefully. It will only work with a sea made from a terrain rather than a water plane, but with a bit of effort it can be quite effective.

Thanks to all. Irene: Will look. JC:Yes, the image still has a long way to go. I'll use GI probably and there are going to be lamps lighting various areas. DC: Thanks, will check them out. Mak
