Sure, R2-D2 has been made before, but this is the Vanishing Point version! First we started with an excellent mesh made by John Jongsma (who is a Lightwave artist who gave us permission to convert his astromech droids). Then we added extra parts to to the model and converted it to a Poser figure... and then we went crazy with color variations. Not only does this package allow you to make R2-D2, but it also includes MAT poses to create different R2 units seen in the *Star Wars* movies: R2-A6, R2-B1, R2-D1, R2-D2, R2-D3, and more! And you can create your own R2 unit simply by changing the "base" and "trim" coloring! This R2 unit includes:

Does not include the side rockets Too bad. They were featured in Revenge of the Sith, too. Of course, he's no longer under warranty by the time of Episode IV ....

Thank you, though I think that the episode 2 scene was written so that he could fly, not to fix a plot thing that would have been very easy to fix.

Actually, in the original Star Wars books that came out after the first three movies, R2 could not fly. In one of the books it actually stated that the problem with this model was that they fell into holes and had to be helped out. But at the same time it never explained how they got up and down stairs, lol.

PS If R2 could fly in the first 3 movies, how come they needed cranes to put the R2's into the x-Wings.

Would you want a pair of high velocity jets playing along -your- wings before you took a bird up?

Yes, somebody could get burned if r2 units were flying about too close to people.

I think R2 is kind of like KITT: whenever the plot called for needed a new feature, it added on. So what if every compartment on an R2 unit was full (or every button on KITT was already taken)- if the plot calls for a "molecular destabilization matrixicing recipricator", then there it is! :) --John

personally, the jets make sense for a droid that works in space. looses contact with the Hull? jet back. can't get to the drive system? jet over... Not having them, thats what does not make sense... but thats just me...
