Subject: Reusable lattices?

I'm wondering if I can use lattices in Blender to work similarly to magnets in Poser. Basically, I'd like to use on lattice to morph a human figure, and then save the lattice to apply a fitting morph to clothing for that figure. It seems like this should be simple to do, but I guess it's one of those things that's so obvious that I can't figure it out. How would I save the lattice for re-use?

Haven't tried it myself, but I would think that you could just delete everything except the lattice and save as a .blend file. Reload file, import the mesh(es) you want to change and make the lattice parent to the mesh(es).
