Okay...im gonna pass on this one...cause its good enough as it is. #:O) ...and i should get to zzzzleep....

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Liked the hill and 2 houses, so cropped to focus on that. Duplicated cropped version (to another layer) Applied Virt Photographer "SPOOKY" Setting to the new layer Changed blend mode to LINEAR LIGHT created New Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer (Hue =0; Saturation = -44; Lightness = -6) Touch-ups using BURN TOOL for blow out on clouds, cliff rocks and houses. Thats all folks!

Nice image Simon I like that Joe :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

I so liked Joe's crop I copied it. Other than that: added noise, converted to b/w with ch mix.

... my contribution for this excellent challenge

Agree with Zacko....good as is. Changes are subtle; 1)Selective clone out of building on horizon and tree at bottom right. 2)Added slight polarization effect to sky and clouds 3)Brought back some detail in blown out clouds 4)Slight curve adjustment 5)Flipped image horizontal as the natural angle is to the upper right of the image.

In youth, we learn....with age, we understand.

I like the mirror image! Yet, I have to add just one more grayscale try. TomDart.

I like what everyone's done here, but I have to agree that it stand all on it's own!!!! I just stuck it in Harry's Filters and did a quad flip! Interesting thing is the faces that showed up at the seam... a smiley face near the roof..... another face below that .... but the one by the boats..... is a skull!!!!! "Plays Twilight Zone theme" Do do do do .... do do do do !! LOL:P

In Photo elements 3 I went to filter, then distort, then to liquify for these crazy clouds... what fun...

Margana posted Mon, 20 March 2006 at 12:49 AM

I cropped and used the dry brush, texturiser and saturated it.

And once again,gorgeous shot Simon.

Looks like most of you did a great job altering this. Here are my 2 humble attempts. The first is a conversion to a painting using KPT pyramid paint and playing with the settings. Also flipped it for a more classic compo.

For my second, I wanted to get that 60's technicolor postcard feel. I also streched it just a tad. If I had time, I'd make Godzilla or some other monster rise out of the foreground water, but don't have the time. :)
