The Cedar Waxwing is a funny bird, flying always like it is full speed ahead, swinging around the sky in group as well as the best fliers in unison...then they look like they are on yoyos..funny and making high pitched little songs as they fly.

This morning, my gut said take the telephoto lens, the birds might be there. I did not. The birds were there behind the work place like never before. You see, around here these Waxwings are rare indeed! In colder climates they are fairly common but not here! They came in like little organized funny and sociable clowns to make me smile...and I was stuck with the 130max(read about 187mm equivalent crop)everyday lens. Tomorrow, I take the tele' and maybe the birds will come back and I will be there and the light will be ok...etc. etc.

Alas, birds letting me get close but lens not close enough! Sigh.

I should listen to those little voices..well,that one at least.

That inner voice is always right, and one of the hardest things for us to completely trust... Still, I like this shot, must be amazing to see so many??? WOW!!!!!!

Yeah but then if you did you would have found something you wanted another lens for lol!! The moral of the story maybe to have a Telezoom with a good range or a backpack with some other choices Primes are great for quality but a Zoom can get you otta jail for wildlife shots
