Photobucket just deleted a dozend of my pics.

Funny thing is, those deleted pics were well INSIDE the Renderosity TOS, while others, showing nudity, too, are still up.

So WTF is going on there ?

Anyone can explain to me why the first image was censored, while the second one is OK ?

So while Photobucket is so damn convenient, are there other picture hosts out there that deliver similar free service but are less uptight ?

Preferably no unrealistic picture size limiations and no names stamped all over the pics.
(YourUpload.com is ok, but they dont have albums like Photobucket.)

Nudity is not allowed at photobucket, I usually make sure my figures are fully clothes just in case of trouble.

I used Rendos TOS to emphasize how harmless the pics that were deleted by Photobucket actually were. Come on, we all know that Rendo is a prime example of creeping censorship and unfortunately they successfully managed to get rid of everything but the mildest "artistic" nudity. (DAZ is of course even worse in that regard, no argue about that) So if a pic still is "good" for Rendo, it "should" be good anyplace else, shouldnt it ? I know the Photobucket TOS says "No Nudity", but were talking about RENDERS showing ARTISTIC NUDITY, not REAL pictures showing 100% hardcore porn. And if the "No nudity" actually means "NO NUDITY IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM WHATSOEVER BECAUSE EVEN A GLIMPSE OF V3s NEKKID BUTT WILL TURN OUR BEAUTIFULL INNOCENT CHILDREN INTO SADISTIC SOCIOPATHOIC PERVERTS IN THEIR LATER LIFE", umm, then why didnt Photobucket delete ALL my "dirty" pics ??? LOL... sorry, just comparing stahlratte's opinion to the IM I received a couple of days ago complaining that the Renderosity galleries are a "sink of depravity and filth" and that clearly our TOS was far too lenient! It's all about perception, isn't it? Anyway. At a guess, stahlratte, I'd suggest the reason they haven't pulled the other image you posted is because they haven't noticed it. Of course, in order to find out for sure, you could contact them and ask. Karen :-)

But if Id abide to every rule someone makes up, I never would get things done. LOL.

I posted because obviously a CERTAIN kind of nudity is OK with them, regardless what their squeaky clean TOS says, because otherwise all the other nekkid pics would have been deleted, too , wouldnt they ?

And THATS why I posted, AND to find info if someone knows a less restrictive host, so I can AT LEAST use that bit of freedom Renderosity still allows me to have.

BTW, looks like "YourUpload.com" s*cks, too. :-(

Note to myself: Poser magnets are very dangerous and cant be allowed to be seen on pictures.

I don't know if you're talking to me, stahlratte, but I was talking to xantor. But as I suggested, if you really want to know why some of your images remain on their servers - you need to ask them. As regards hosting - I think you're looking at paying, unless you're willing to accept watermarks and no nudity.

Karen1573 I was joking, I said in the second post in this thread that photobucket doesn`t allow nudity. I deleted the joke post because the picture that I was talking about is no longer there making my joke a bit cryptic.

It all goes a bit odd once the deletions start ;-)

Some of the images that have appeared in the galleries here have been down right tasteless - such as a crotch shot of a person in the photography gallery. Nudity has been over done to the point that it's like beating a dead horse. And I'm actually surprised at what gets through the TOS - the language used in this forum comes to mind. I've been a loyal member of this community for a good many years .. and its sad to see the current decline.

TOS: "Upload, email or otherwise transmit any User Content that is unlawful, obscene, harmful, threatening, defamatory or hateful or that contains objects or symbols of hate, invade the privacy of any third party, contain nudity or child erotica, or is otherwise objectionable." Material which is not objectionable does not need the protection of a Constitutional Amendment (Fist Amendment of ghd US Constitution guarantee of freedom of speech and religion), and in fact, renders such guarantees moot. Besides, unless it's objectionable to some one, it likely isn't worth looking at. Art, like roses, best grows in shit.

I have some pics on Photobucket that are absolutely porn. Rendered porn, but still porn. I just reckon (and hope) they won't have time to look at all the pics on all their servers... It has worked for a few years by now...

Stahlratte, I suspect that sites like photobuckets will not strictly enforce their no-nudity policies until someone complains.

You can always go to 'rotica, and post whatever you like there..I've seen more than one inhabitant of this forum post there..;) maybe they just don't like bald nkd people..;)

I use Photobucket only for my tutorials and the odd site that gives you no choice but to load an image that way. I think odf may have something. Nothing done unless someone complains.

After Brokeback Mountain, I think they're a bit sensitive about any portrayal of cowboy hats. ;-)

I actually hope photobucket looks at all the photos an deletes 'em accordingly. Whats the point of having a TOS if its only occassionaly enforced.
