I would like to get some new ecosystems to play around with...tried one from the free area...but could'nt get it to work in VUE. If anyone knows where to get some free ecosystems for download...and some good info on how to properly install them into VUE 5 I....any info would be greatly app'd. Thanks! Mark

Why not setting some up yourself? It is straight forward so no big deal to do that, even when you are a beginner. Try it out and ask if something is not clear - this is my advice.

You basically use them like any other material and if asked whether to automatically populate them say yes. The ones that com with V5I are a rather nice starting point for experiments and learning to control them. Difficulties start when you have a very precise idea about what you want and try to achieve that. :-)

Create a new scene with a terrain. What kind of terrain doesn't really matter at this point. Open the Materials Browser and look for the Ecos folder. Select one. There are 25 or so to choose from. Great place to start.
Now this folder was included on the CD. I'm not positive it was included in the downloaded version. If not, you may have to buy the extra contents CD.

Thanks for the info...did'nt realize how versatile that ecosystem editor was!...Tried it....love it!..already posted an image with something I played with! See "The Potentater's Clothes"

Hehe that's a FANTASTIC use of Ecos - Mr Potato head - inspired! >8oD There's another tutorial somewhere in this forum where (if you're feeling brave) you can use the Function Editor to make all the Mr. Potato Heads point toward the Statue of the Potato God! Best way to learn Vue is to have fun like you're doing! /salute!
