You floor me. I am very surprised, especially because of those technical defects. I sure hope this isn't an April Fool's joke! But then, Moms are always right, right? We can't argue with somebody's mom. So nobody demand a recount! Thank you so much litst, I am actually quite excited about this. If I'm sounding too flippant, that's why. --Terri

Congrats twillis & thanks litst for offering the contest prize.

Congrats! And, I have to agree, Terri, your image is WAY cool. I love the concept! Clearly many layers went into the production of this -- designing the arcana, rendering the pictures for the cards, putting them on the model cards. Wow. Very very cool idea. And I second willf's comment to Litst -- thanks for encouraging us all to try new things....

Congratulations Terri! I like idea of using the images of the simple machines along with the complex mechanical hands. Keith

Congrats Terri!! This is a very original concept. Litst (and mrs. Litst's mom) - good choice!

Congratulations Terri! It's really a great pic. And litst, will there be a new challeneg too. I hope so, but please no over such a great time range, i think 1 or 2 weeks are enough. Can't wait for the next. geek

Geek, i hope there will be other contests in the future, too ! The problem are the prices : Renderosity doesn't have much products for Carrara or RDS . But when there will be some products releases ( books, plug-ins, or whatever product related to Carrara/RDS ...), be sure i'll contact the editors to see if they want to be partners with Renderosity to organize a contest ! litst

litst, don't think a price is recoment for every challenge, we can male challeges without a price too, just for fun. Maybe, when a price is avileable, we made a challenge for the price. Make a trophy in carrara and let us play the next for it. No (real) price for the winner, just an image, which you can put on your Hompeage or so. In this challenges you can learn too be better. When there is a price, make us one for it, but when there is noone, we only make the challenge to win the throphy pic geek

Neat idea, geek. Possible variation: The winner of the challenge makes the trophy for the next challenge.
geek posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 8:03 AM
Or the winner of the challenge set's the topic for the next
twillis posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 8:09 AM
Oooooh. That could get dangerous. I like it. Heh, heh, heh.
geek posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 8:17 AM
What thinks the rest about a challenge without a price, only an throphy image for the homepage (until there is a real price), only for up to 2 weeks (or only 1), the last winner set's the topic. When anyone have any add sugestions post it geek

I think it sounds good, except I would have had trouble meeting a two-week deadline. But then, I'm a bit slow at this stuff still, so that could be just me.
graylensman posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 10:35 AM
The virtual trohpy idea is good in theory, but some of us (me) may not have websites yet. I really like the iea that the previous month's winner posts the challenge, and perhaps even acts as judge (with litst as advisor). Terri?... But please leave the deadline for the full month. Like twillis, I too have to eke out time units from life's rich pageant.
geek posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 10:41 AM
Then we make it so, that the trophy is on the Homapage(when you have on) and in the gallery. Why don't we make it so, the last winner choose the topic of the next one and is the judge with litst(a 2-man-jury).
twillis posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 11:08 AM
That would be OK by me, but there may be complications we haven't thought of. Let's see what litst thinks. Oh, and I think litst should be the final judge, as I for one don't really feel all that qualified to judge someone else's work (yet).
litst posted Fri, 06 April 2001 at 11:43 AM
Sorry for the late answer, folks ! I'd love to organize that ! And i think the ideas of letting the winner be judge and decide of the topic of the next challenge are great ! I'll see what i can do and keep you in touch ;) litst

I really love this contest that goes on here. The room has such a warm aura about it. The artwork just keep getting better and better. Makes me sometimes wish I still had my copy of Carrara. Anyway, congrats to Twillis. I think that is a very sharp image. Feel free to drop into the Lightwave room and mess around with us for a while or even drop us a pic or two. All are welcome and your artistic expression and criticism is much welcomed. We are a silent bunch but a friendly one nonetheless. Also, remember you can find inspiration anywhere! 8-)

Tephladon, i gotta say i've sometimes seen some images in the Lightwave galleries and was impressed by the quality of the render ! Lightwave really looks like at cool program ! But not as fun as Carrara ! ;) litst
