Thanks to dadt I've got the color issues resolved, but now I'm getting black splotches over the hair. I'm not using HDRI, Indirect or AO. Just two bulbs to light this particular scene, but when I render this is what happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if it was doing it earlier because the hair was black and you couldn't tell.

Did you check the second light thru trans option in GI. 2 places to check this option. Also interpolation set to off or 100% could help if the first doesn't work, but that is usually for ashes.

it's dynamic hair... so no trans... plus without using skylight or indirect light... you can't check the lighting options... or interpolation. I've had that problem before with poly hair. And those suggestions help, but it doesn't with dynamic hair.

Ok...sorry didn't read too well. I don't work with poser so that would have helped also. The render is small so it is hard to see for sure, but they might be 2 shadows from the 2 bulbs.So test for that either w/ ambient or by turning them off. Are you using shadow buffer?

I see it is more than 2, but I would still check my lights. Might try spot lights. Also did you check the AA,OA, SA. Could there be something in the texture. I am not sure what settings you used.Maybe even full raytraced would improve it...tho it shouldn't be necessary.

I've done several renders of dynamic hair in the last couple of days but this is one problem I hav'nt had. Sorry, can't help with this one.

ren_mem... you're onto something with the shadows... not sure why? I turned on indirect lighting... made no difference. Turned AA to best and OA and SA to .5 pixels... no difference. Turned shadows off on both lights... the hair looked nasty color wise, but it got rid of the artifacts... so I think I'm going to play around with buffering the shadows and see what happens.

Are we really ever sure why :D I would guess that really small polys, as I understand dynamic hair to be(I don't use it, like I said)could be alot more prone to "light" related anomalies. There really isn't much that get's rendered in Carrara that fits in that same category.Did you experiment w/ a diff light model like anisotropic to see if it might give better results? Might try soft shadows, but that will increase render, but I bet spot will work better than bulbs.

So I'm new to Carrara but with the Poser scaling being as small as it is. Have you tried to increase the figures size. Maybe getting the figure to a normal scale might cure some problems. It is know that close up renders in poser are crisper and more detailed if you increase the scale to 1000%. I'm not saying that you need to increase that much in Carrara, Because I don't know what the scaling difference is from Poser to Carrara.

Carrara automatically scales the imported poser figure. I've still got the file should I decide to revist it. I went with dynamic hair because the hair obj I was using had some areas that didn't look as realistic as the rest of the hair. But dynamic hair has never been a favorite of mine. I'm glad I didn't buy transposer2 soley for dynamic hair...
