Hello my friends! here I go again. Following my previous post on "Professional use of Bryce" the clients I've been working for are really happy with my job, so they asked me to make the cover of 2 more magazine issues. The first challenge was to illustrate a Northrop Grumman's project. As it's an brand new project, the constructor had only a few and really small images to give.. So I had to build this strange flying thing and make a High rez illustration of it. Here it is (Entirely modeled in bryce) the ground is a photoshop map on a plan, Clouds painted with photoshop. (the little plane was modeled with Blender)

Concerning the 3rd magazine cover, as the magazine is not yet avalable I can only show small previews pic of it. All I can say is that it was modeled with Blender and rendered with Bryce. Here it is

Just goes to show what can be achieved if you know how to push Bryce to the very edge, with just a little help from PS,LOL, It also shows that it's not the tools, but the artist behind them that counts! Really superb and compelling illustration work, and the models are beautiful pidgy!!

Hey danamo.. I just want to say that the sky is rendered in bryce too!.. the clouds you see are transparency layers applied on 2d plans.. I'm gonna post some screen shot to show how to do it.

Excellent modeling; hard to believe that you did it in Bryce; the texturing caught my eyes; how did you applied the textures ? (those blue lines look really great)
pidjy posted Wed, 05 April 2006 at 12:54 PM
For the texture I've put a grid on the model (using object from top) instead of parametric in the texture editor, I do a render of the model (top view) then I paint the line in photoshop following that image, and import the texture map to replace the grid map..

Thanks pidjy; that's a smart texturing idea! :-)
