I have an old Pentax IQZoom 115 Camera that I dearly love. It is a 35mm film camera...takes some of the best photos I have ever seen and has a very decent wide angle to zoom range. Being an older camer it is all optical..no digital enhancements. Is there a way to convert it into a digital camera with its current optical system? Is there a company that does it?? I love the camera system itself...but prefer digital output... Fillingim

I would think that is highly unlikely although I do know someone that put the guts from a point and shoot digi cam into one of those Kodak toy cameras (for reasons best known to him no doubt) and it worked. I have never heard of such a thing being done to an SLR and would think that it would be pretty difficult to achieve, especially with all the extra buttons need for menus etc.

Some cameras can be modified to accept a back that has fiber optics or something to transfer the image to a standard polaroid. They are mostly Leicas, I think.

No I would seriously doubt they would invest the technology for a point and shoot camera or one that did not have world wide sales. Digital backs are made for medium and large format cameras and for the Leica models as well as a few others

they should make a digital version of the film itself then adjustable in iso so there is no need for further buttons.

There is/was some company that did digital film (http://www.side.com/). But it's so expensive, it's cheaper to buy a fullblown dSLR. I can't remember ever seeing a working model of them either. There are digibacks available for things like hasselblats.
