Hey Guys 😄 I've been thinking and since we have these great new forums, I thought we could really use a few banners to help decorate. Sooooooo, Let's see what we can come up with 😄 There are a few requirements (you knew those were coming): *It should be 570 x 100 pixels **It has to say "Blender 3D" somewhere on it and ***It can't violate the TOS Have FUN and post what you come up with in this thread 😄

I do not know what TOS is,  can we use this?

haloedrain posted Thu, 13 April 2006 at 12:55 AM

Attached Link: Terms Of Service

TOS is the renderosity Terms Of Service (basically, no porn, torture, naked kids, etc.--your banner should be fine 😉)

...And I have some suggestion to our forum sub-title. I think it`s quite good thread to show it;)

The sentence "Blender: Full functional software suite" wont make any impression on people who have heard of LW, Maya, etc. because it doesnt underline the most important advantage of Blender! Something like "Blender: A complete Free 3D suite" would have more impact!

Cheers and good luck for entrants:)

Angel1 posted Sun, 07 May 2006 at 9:38 AM

Good thinking silgrin 😄

I think we should use that - what do the rest of you guys think?

Yeah, I do like that one better.  Been meaning to suggest something else too, but I usually forget since I don't actually read that line very often ;)

I think we should closely hold our little secret, just among friends ... 😉

oodmb posted Wed, 28 June 2006 at 1:11 AM

howbout "blender a completely free profesional 3d suite"

oodmb posted Wed, 28 June 2006 at 6:51 PM

there's my take

haloedrain posted Thu, 29 June 2006 at 1:11 AM

I like that one too (both banner and slogan version :)

Prikshatk posted Fri, 30 June 2006 at 10:29 AM

There's no need to be shy about it. How about: "Blender: The end of Maya and Max" :tt2::tt2::tt2:

oodmb posted Fri, 30 June 2006 at 12:14 PM

well thats a good one, but blender is still far away from being anywhere near the end of 3ds max and maya, or even lightwave.  thoes programs are already to widly used commercialy in the industry.  when a commercial institution uses a program, they end up endorsing it by forcing students to learn it in order to get jobs. plus the idea that thoes expensive program useres are an elite few gives them comfort

3dz posted Wed, 26 July 2006 at 11:57 AM

oodmb, that render is looks great. I'm curious what render engine you used? 🤤

oodmb posted Fri, 11 August 2006 at 3:58 AM

yafray.  i pretty much always use yafray. when i dont use yafray i use indigo, however indigo takes way to long.  i have tried lightflow and have never liked the process or results and blender's internal engine just cant do as much and isnt as good

3dz posted Sat, 12 August 2006 at 8:27 PM

Wow, that looks excellent!  yafray has a license for multiple processors too. :thumbupboth:

oodmb posted Sat, 12 August 2006 at 9:50 PM

yet another thing i love about yafray, its one of the few renderers for blender that take advantage of dual core and higher processors which are the only next generation of processors.  the only problem with yafray's use of multiple processors is that it does not take advantage of them during raytracing, caustics, or any other steps other than refinement and antialiasing

i noticed that the size of my picture was not correct. it was 500100 rather than 570100, here is an updated pic

Subtitled 'What to do whilst bored on a teleconference....' a nice simple blender banner :)

There are alot of excellent banners here. I digg oodmb's slogan. I feel that we should use a banner with Blender's colors and logo.

oldskoolPunk posted Mon, 29 January 2007 at 2:55 PM

Hey!
I was working on another banner (for some reason) but the spped of the animation is really slow in my browser, much slower than it is when played from my desktop. Oh well, here it is...

Tobak30 posted Tue, 30 January 2007 at 8:13 AM

Very cool banner you got there oldskoolpunk. I like the eye. :)

haloedrain posted Tue, 13 February 2007 at 9:24 PM
