Yup, I've been measuring the same. It's those stupid individual hand-crafted stars that take most of the time. I think they must have an overworked little elf building each one with a soldering iron and pliers.

I was thinking the same thing about the stars, watching them load like they were separate URLs for each one, and they don't seem to cache, either.

They are seperate URLS (e.g. http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/graphic.php?mod_time=1144466278&read_time=1144445910&type=message&status=active) Can't for the life of me understand why it's been done this way as it 1) stops them being cachable 2) increases server load 3) no discernable benefit for users. The page generator must have all the information it needs to create the URL for the static image otherwise it couldn't write the URLs it does to the page.
