:b_tonguewink: ooh... I could go so many ways to be gross with this question!!! However I just woke up and am waiting for the coffee to brew... A sticky is a forum topic that gets "stuck" to the top of the new posts so It's always available to view or update as normally only "important" stuff gets stickied! :b_smile:

In most of the PHP-type forums I've seen, Stickies tend to pile up because nobody is willing to remove information that may have been important at some point. The result is that readers quit paying attention to the Stickies, because it's too much work to sort the new from the old. So we can look forward to having a page or two of formerly-important information to scroll past, after waiting two minutes for all the meaningless and identical yellow stars to be painstakingly and individually created for our entertainment.

personally I hope youse guys will control the stickies and announcements, as it's an annoyance (albeit minor) on poorly maintained forums (not here of course) to have to click thru several pages of stickies to get to the actual forum messages. especially when "mark read" and "ignore" don't work on them. it might be less a burden to transfer them to your FAQs page after a suitable interval (e.g. 1 week).
