Ok I asked a few days ago which I should use wether is should be Poser or Lightwave.. My uncle passed away/on and I have his computer .. with Poser and lightwave installed on it... I decided to teach myself Poser. and just a few minutes ago I installed Vitoria 3 and the other free Figures... He has 1000's of megabytes of textures and poses and props.. what directory or where should I put these into? Raymond

Which version of Poser is it? In Poser 4, everything has to be put into the default Runtime. In Poser 5 and 6, you can use multiple runtimes.

If it's Daz files, it's easy: Just let the installer handle it. 99% of the time they're made properly so they will extract it right. As for downloaded stuff, just make sure that the path in the zipfiles start with runtime.... and all you need is to extract them to the Poser 6 folder with "Use Foldernames" checked in Winzip. Alternatively you can extract them to the Poser 6Downloads folder. They will then end in the Runtime called Downloads, you will see it if you go up one level from where the default is (where you see Figures - Poses - expression and so on...) As martian_manhunter said, you can use multiple runtimes, and in time you will probably find that a good idea, but I'll leave that up to you for now, there's no need (IMO) to confuse more than necessary GG Later, you may find it a good idea to make one runtime for V3, one for M3, one for scenes and so on. Or perhaps something else that suits YOUR workflow :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
