Regarding my recent inquiry as to how I could assign a keyboard shortcut to keyframe in Carrara 5 Pro: "Hello, Sorry it is not possible to assign a shortcut for this action. I filed a bug report for this issue and someone will look into it as soon as possible. Thank you for reporting. Best regards, Pierre-Sylvain Desse" Carrara 6 Pro, anyone? ;-) Gotta say this, though - they responded with a message the same day. Can't say that about other 3D packages I own.

I have to say that I don't know of any other software company that is so in touch and responsive to their customer base.  That is why I have never switched to another 3D app since I started with Ray Dream Studio 5.

Thanks for listening Eovia!

Though I've only had Carrara5 for a short time, I would have to agree!  The abilities that Eovia has given Carrara5, even in the standard edition, are untouchable by any other 3d app  near its price range.

I was visiting another software forum here at R'osity and one post there concerned the long list of  users' wants for the next upgrade. I won't name the software, but it is another 3Dapp that a lot of Poser artists use to render their animations. I had to feel somewhat smug and fortunate when I realised that Carrara5 standard already has all the features they were asking for, plus better stability, and more render options, and faster rendering than the "Flagship" version of this other software!  Thank you Eovia for listening carefully to your customers, and for giving us so much "bang for our bucks", or euros, pounds, whatever, lol!

I agree with the kudos to Eovia. I bought Hexagon yesterday -- an extravagance on my budget -- because I have such confidence that they will deliver on the promises of Hex 2.0. Carrara is one of the great success stories of the industry, in terms of quality if not market share. In fact I was heartbroken when they did not emerge as the new owners from the wreckage of Poser 5. I don't know if they had to rewrite the code of RDS from the ground up, the way someone will have to do for Poser to fix it, but Carrara is RDS body-sculpted, sent to college, and driving a Porsche it earned. If they owned Poser, it would work.

Eovia is one of those old-fashioned companies with values that predate the current wisdom, the sociopathic business ethic that teaches tech support their primary task is to get rid of you and sales departments that once you make the big score, individual customers don't matter any more and a "personal promise" (and a nice round butt on this year's sales slut) matter more than quality.  Reward them for their real wisdom as often as you can.
