** Short story;**
Whenever there is a new DAZ Freebie, grab it quick. As of next week, a freebie will be available for one week, and then available in the archive for an addtional week, after that it will be gone.
The announcement from DAZ;
As many of you know a Free Product of the Week is currently set up to be added into the Free Product archive after it is featured in the weekly DAZ Dispatch. Effective next week, this system will be changing a little bit. With the new system each new Free Product will be available in the Free Product archive for only one week, and will then be added into the store as a normal product. All of the products currently in the Free Product Archive, excluding the Morphing Python, the Tree Frog and the recent Redhouse Studios products, will continue to be available in the archive until further notice. The Morphing Python, the Tree Frog and the recent Redhouse Studios products will be pulled out of the archive and added into the regular DAZ store within the newt few weeks. So be sure to check each week for the new Free Product, or you may miss one.

They actually used to do it once in a while in the past with certain items. But, 2 weeks is long enough to catch an item and download it. We'll have to be sure an post about the cool ones in here!
Bummer though, looks like when my cloud mats are done, I'll just be giving them away here, though.
(not what I originally planned on) :unsure:

I used to forget too....had to make a DIR structure like this
F:/DLs_new/
/Erlik stuff
/Agentsmith stuff
/Drac stuff
/DAZ stuff
ETC
only trouble with most "DAZ" DLs....their designated with foreign(to me anyway) DB labels.
Oh well. (Going to look)
Thanks AS

I tend to also save the thumbnail that comes with the thing I download and name the thumbnail the same as the .zip or .exe - makes all those cryptic names so much more obvious when you can just use an image viewer to scan through an entire directory of files.

The quality of DAZ freebies has gone up and up. If they are going to be in the store after 2 weeks, to me that means they are going to be even better. That last several items have been fantastic. Don't miss this weeks item - it is a rose window.

They got better. :biggrin: At least, now they include the name of the model in the name of the installation file.
I do downloads into separate directories, but the frog wasn't there, cause I was switching between two computers and three disks. Better safe than sorry later.

Yup, I do the same as some others, I organize the heck outta my downloads in a maze of named folders. Each item has its own folder, unless its a collection of free items from one user. And, I always rename the thumb of the item to the name of the zip, that way they are always together, and I can just browse my downloaded items with my image viewer if I want/need to.

It's called "Radience of Spirit";
"Radiance of Spirit is a beautifully authentic rose window prop set...." blah, blah.

Did you all catch the phrase: "until further notice".
That could mean that the rest of the freebie archive will disappear; and the way DAZ does things it could vanish suddenly!
So grab anything you want; while you can.

Thanks AS, that wasnt there the other day!!! Shame if they get rid of that, but some of it is rather old.
