Some days ago somebody talked about how to manage disturbing painted "reflections" in Kozaburos Shortbob with a shader.
Here is a better solution, I think. I have had a need for this hair in another project, so I painted a texture.
You may download it here (external link in a new browserwindow).

Thanks - that's a nice texture.

Thanks!
What lighting did you use? The image has a very nice natural look.

The hair uses a shadernode with anisotropic light and a displacementmap (the texture converted to grayscale with higher contrast and smoothed with a gaussian filter).
Th light is one pointlight (very high distance: Z=500, Y=750, X=900) with 90% and one spotlight with 35%. That's all.
