Is it me or is anyone else having problems using Firefox on the forums?  The "text editor" window stopped working or something.  It was ok a week or so ago, but I don't think it had this fancy-shmancy interface.

If you look to the far left of the text input window, at the top, you'll see a tiny triangle with no explanation of what it does.  Click on that and the "fancy-schmancy" bit will roll up and out of sight.  It's just to the left of where it says "Style" in case your eyes are as bad as mine. ~lol~

I'm on Firefox and have had no problems though, with the options tab open or closed.

No, unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work.  On my Firefox, the entire "Body" box does nothing, regardless of whether I close the triangle or not.  Is it a Java applet?  Maybe I buggered my config...

Ok, it's back now.  I had to reinstall Firefox.  Don't know what that fixed....

No probs with Firefox but I wanted to try Opera.
So I installed the latest stable version and it gives probs.
Even though I was signed in to all forums it refused to let me in the Merchants forum. Wouldn't even show that forum. Got a message that was a restricted area and I needed to log on. So I tried to logon and the MP window opened insted. Tried several times and same thing. And, yes, I am a merchant.

So I'm back to Firefox because it lets me increase the text as large as I need it.

I had problems initially. I had thought i had the current version of Mozilla-Firefox but it turns out that it wasn't updating itself like I had set it to do.  Getting the most most current version of the program fixed it.  It's definitly something java related which the new version seems to fix.

Well I had some problems with Netscape 7.....
Switched to Firefox but I've stillg ot the same or similar problems.  My whole window goes white and Firefox gets stuck.  This seems to happen mostly when I have a slow connection.  I have noticed that turning off my Instant Messengers etc has removed these issues.

It might be that a number of javascripts are trying to load simultaneously on the forum pages and if your connection is not top flight then it can get confused and stuck.

I just had that firefox problem on a wide open cable connection minutes ago. It went all white, froze up, and task manager couldn't kill it. I realy had to force kill the thing. It's a frequent problem. This is happens on two separate PCs.

I've just tested with Firefox and I've got the same problem.
Now the good news: I've solved it.

I am using the very useful Firefox extension named NoScript.
Because this Text-Editor is a Java Applet it was not shown. So I allowed Renderosity to use script and everything works.

Great that you found a solution :o)

I've been using Firefox from the start of the new forum (and before that) and I haven't had any problems. As a matter of fact I have ore prblems at work where I'm forced to use IE -  I get the double line space on enter there...

X-PaX, would the script prevent the problem in the attached image from happening?

It doesn't happen much, but when it does, it's rather annoying.
