Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone here has purchased the MAXDefault scene file [for Bryce] by Mihnea available at Daz:

http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=3224

I use light domes to fake HDRI now and the renders can take 32 hours to render and sometimes shadows are multiplied and look wierd, but it's all I have to get the lighting I want. Look at her chest and you'll see what I mean:

On this render, the sahdows are better:

Sooo... I was wondering if this lighting set has been tried and what you think of it? Thanks so much and best regards...

I've tried his previous version and it was excellent, don't see why this one would be any different.

You could always try some of originalmorons models and scenes.

He does have a couple of B5 that come with light domes all set up.

Grreat greebles too!

I'm "Mihnea", I don't know why DAZ has pegged me under my real name, but anyway...

MAXDefault was created with the idea that light-domes take too much time to render and the shadows are banded and ugly. It only has one light source, and ergo one shadow, but the results are somewhat lower than a conventional HDRI image + light dome.

It takes a bit of tinkering, but the overall results are nice. Up to you. It's my product, I'd obviously suggest you buy it. For that little money it's really a steal :)
