Yeah, "Saturdays' upcoming "Rise of the Cybermen" inspired me to piece together this cyber-helmet. I knew it wasn't 100 percent accurate, plus I wondered upon what figure to place it. Then I remembered Sixus1's "Blind Guardian" figure. On a lark I tried it, and somehow, it just seemed right with its cartoonish physique.
Sincerely,
Bill

On the subject of 3d cybermen; does anyone know what happened to the Who3d forum and Robbs 3d doctor who website? They were both hosted on interocitor-media.com but they seem to have been down for months.
I remember that there was a really realistic model of the new style cyberman that someone was working on, Phillip Hogg I think, dont remember his screen name. Anyway he did some fantastic screen renders of the new model and another one with a group of cybermen and some flames coming up from the ground. I think that when he was finished with the modelling, he was going to try to turn it into a poser figure.
If anyone know of any new links for these sites or whether Phillips cyberman was ever finished or posted anywhere, could you please post a link here as the cyberman figure would compliment the poser dalek really well.
Thanks

the 3D DW forum can be found here:

...and Rob Semenoff's main DW site is here:

I can only assume Rob is busy in real life and hasn't bothered updating, but the site is still there.

Thankyou for the reply Redfern, but those are the addresses that I already have for the sites, but all I get is the "page cannot be displayed" page. Is anyone else having the same problem or is it just me? Cybermen hate the British that's why they keep invading our quarries! Perhaps their stopping me from getting in.
PS the super deforms kit in the 'rosity market place would be cool for making these, I can imagine a toon "bobble-head" Davros. Oh wait he already looks like that!

Hmm, odd... I have no problems displaying either of those sites. I assume neither does Khai nor Nod have any problem since I see both of them post there regularly. I don't know what to suggest.
Any network savy gurus out there to help DarrenUK?
Sincerely,
Bill

As you have observed, Davros' features are so "over the top" to begin with, it is a challenge to parody them. However, I gave it a shot.
I scaled his head a tad larger and tried to "ramp up" his more noticable features like his nose and jowls. A more 'toony chair (maybe with fewer but larger hemispheres) would have helped, but for the duration, I added a few low tech vacuum tubes for humorous effect.

To ring in the return of the original 'borg menace, the Cybermen, showcasing in Saturday's UK airing of "Doctor Who", here's something a lil' offbeat, a 'toon Cyberman. I modeled a somewhat passable mockery of the "Invasion/Revenge" helmets and placed it upon the Content Paradise freebie figure, the "Blind Guardian". It was originally just a simple modeling exercise and experiment, but I thought the finished effect had humorous potential. Playing up the silly factor, I used a TV prop as part of the chest unit and added an oscilloscope texture suggesting an EKG readout.
By adding a depth of field "haze" and placing the combined figure in front of RDNA's "sci-fi pipes" backdrop, we have a silly lil' homage to the London sewer scenes from "The Invasion".
Sincerely,
Bill
