With summer fast approaching I want to find the best V3 textures for getting good tanlines in the render. I'm looking for the bikini strap type. Any suggestions as to the best V3 character to use?
Thanks

After "tanning" the texture with a screen, I usually use the "dodge" tool in Photoshop to make untanned appearing areas.

UmbleFugly has a set you can apply to any texture. Search in the Marketplace.

I think he's looking for the name of a character addon/texture that has tan lines on it, not that he's wanting to know how to make his own.

Yes. I am looking for a quality "pre-tanned" texture for V3.

Maybe ' Elly ' in the freestuff ?
Phantast posted Sun, 14 May 2006 at 5:32 AM
This proves to be harder to answer than I would have thought. Elly still shows up in the freestuff but the file can no longer be downloaded. Looking through my collection, I can only find one that really fulfills what you want, which is Dina by Lisbeth. But checking in the RMP, it seems to have been removed. Other than that, Arduino's Tizian does have some tan lines.
There must be others. After all, there are so many textures out there.
Incidentally, for purposes of making your own tanlines (which I know is not the OP's wish), it seems to me that one could take advantage of bikini "second skins" to identify the areas of skin to lighten. This way it could be a very easy process. Add the second skin as a layer in Photoshop over the skin texture to be modified. Select the bikini colour area. Feather slightly. Invert. Now move to the actual skin texture, darken it. Remove the bikini layer and save. I think I'll try this myself.

DosPorticus - sorry I misinterpreted your request.
I have a set in the Marketplace which features tan lines and it works for StephaniePetite, Aiko3 and V3. I will not mention the name of the product in case it's construed as advertising.

OK, I tried it out and the result is here. Nudity at link (fairly obviously ). This uses a bikini mask derived from lululee ("Gina" character) on a texture ("Foxy") by Lisbeth.DarthJ posted Sun, 14 May 2006 at 8:42 AM
One of the 3 textures in this set has tanlines :

I have this texture set and highly recommend it. It's for both Vic and Steph, and has tan lines. The characters and textures are just fabulous! Melanie and Brandy by 3d Strike :-)

Thanks everyone. I tried the Photoshop layer idea and it works pretty well. I used a cream color at 25% transparency. I might even have one of the other suggested V3 textures as well - now I just have to go find it.

As for not posting the link, I've seen other merchants providing links to a product of theirs in threads such as this. Nothing was said about it. I don't see a problem with it personally because you are just trying to answer a question and not creating a thread advertising your product.

There is a method using Blender Node to create Tan Lines that works real well. I can not find the link, but it is here at Renderosity. Maybe someone else will recall the link.
