I've got a suggestion for the gallery, following on from a 'viewing images, but not commenting' discussion in the photography forum (The Debate, PeeWee05):
A new button for stating that you like a particular image, sort of like voting, but public (& it doesn't count towards the vote thing).

• Click once on the button to add your name to a list of people that like the image that anyone can see. Clicking on the button after that would bring up the list so the artist can you likes their image. Perhaps people can add a smiley next to their name or something.
  Just a quick way to let someone know that you (personally) appreciate their work.

Most of my request comes from how many times does an image need the same compliment underneath it? I will comment if I see an image I like early enough or if there is something specific that I really like, but overall I'm don't feel like I'm participating as much as I should be.
This may sound like the favourite Image button, but I don't use that because after 3 years of R'osity my homepage would look ridiculous, just a long list of images.

Good idea? Waste of time?
