Howdy, I created a prop in LW for use in Poser. Now I first installed and ran it in P6 with no problems. Then I decided to install and run it in P5 and it also ran with no problem.... with the exception of an annoying Warning pop up stating "The File has a newer version number than expected. Poser will attempt to read it anyway"
Now, while it doesn't interfere with the prop loading, it IS annoying and I wanted to know if anyone out there could instruct me how to get that message to stop popping up. I recall someone stating that all that needed to be done was change the version number in a line somewhere. However, since I never attempted this before, I would appreciate step by step, "detailed" instructions on how to correct this so the warning message will stop popping up.
Any help with instructions, or simply pointing me to a tutorial link if any, would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.....

Open the pp2 in a text editor and change the version to 4 and save. It's right at the top of the pp2 file when you open it.

Change the number version to 4 or 4.01 if you want to redistribute the prop or to 5 if you want to use it personally in Poser5 only. afaik 4.01 is the lowest working version of Poser that is out there so if you put 4.01 it will make the "Version number" message disappear in all versions. Maybe we should request that EFrontier get rid of that check in the next version of Poser. It is getting to be a pain, to see the version warning, when the bulk of Poser content is independent of the version being used.

If you don't want to fool with editing the file, all you have to do is load the prop into P5 then save it back to the P5 library. Saving it back to the library automatically updates the version information in the file.
It's all fun and games...
