I do far more stills than I do animations. Particle can be really helpful for making realistic looking effects like smoke, fluids and magic. I've not get any really good examples of what VueDynamics can do in a still yet I'm working on a volcano erupting with smoke and magma but it isn't in a fit state to show. My one big tip so far for using it for stills would be to set up and run a simulation for an effect you want to use in a still then find a frame where it gives the effect that you want and with that frame selected destroy the animation. This leaves the objects just where they were but improves Vue's performance a lot.

I've put up a little test animation of a roman candle. It took one more render of the animation than I'd hoped to get it right so didn't get time to write up how I made it. I'll post a how to and an animated VOB for Vue 5 Esprite users who can't use the sctipt later too.

I've just uploaded the latest version of VueDynamics with added particle emitting capabilities. Particles can be subjected to the same forces as objects could in previous versions.
